BBC tells its staff to watch out for 170 different forms of ‘unconscious bias’ which could fuel ‘discomfort’… including discrimination based on a colleague’s hobbies
The BBC has told its staff to be on the lookout for ‘170 different forms of unconscious bias’ including discrimination against a colleague based on their hobbies.
The Corporation – which critics believe is obsessed with a ‘woke’ agenda – has asked its employees to ‘reflect’ on whether they are making assumptions in the workplace which could fuel ‘discomfort or discrimination.’
Details of the equality and diversity training have been obtained by The Mail on Sunday following a lengthy freedom of information battle with the BBC.
Staff are warned about the risk of inadvertently discriminating against colleagues on the basis of their race, gender, sexual orientation, or a disability.
But they are also told their treatment of a colleague may be influenced by that person’s relationship and parental status, their physical appearance including tattoos, educational background, personality type, communication style and personal interests and hobbies.
One training video tells staff: ‘Every day your brain processes millions and millions of pieces of information, it gets through this workload by using incredibly fast automatic thinking.
‘This mental autopilot draws on your past experiences and personal preferences to make snap decisions. Which is all very efficient, but it can result in stereotyping and discrimination. We call this unconscious bias and it’s something we need to recognise and overcome.’ Staff are told that because they are more prone to unconscious bias when rushed, they need to try and ‘take a moment and slow down’

An NHS trust is using the term ‘birthing people’ instead of ‘mothers’ in the latest woke language row to engulf the health service.
NHS Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust (NSFT) posted on social media that it was seeking ‘birthing people’ to provide feedback on its perinatal services.
Perinatal care is a broad term for the treatment a woman receives both while she is pregnant and for the 12 months after she gives birth.
But NSFT, which specialises in mental health treatment, was accused of leaving biological females out of the conversation by its failure to use the terms ‘women’ or ‘mothers’ in its communications.
‘Our team are developing a Perinatal Voices Partnership networking group, for Birthing people who have had experience of using Perinatal Mental Health Services within Norfolk and Waveney,’ its Tweet reads.
Some members of the public called it ‘dehumanising’ and ‘dangerous nonsense’.
Meanwhile, health experts called it a clear example of ‘desexing the language of female reproduction’ in the NHS.
They said the health service needed to ‘reflect’ on the potential damage caused by promoting such language.

Quarter of Brits Will Refuse to Turn on Heating This Winter
Almost a quarter of Brits say they will refuse to turn on the heating this winter because the skyrocketing cost of energy has become unaffordable.
The energy price cap is set to rise in October, pushing up bills by 80%, meaning the average yearly household bill will rise from £1,971 to £3,549 ($2,300 to $4,150).
By next spring, energy bills are set to soar to £6,522, a level that threatens to push half of the country into fuel poverty.
A survey by Savanta ComRes reveals that 23% of those polled say they will simply refuse to turn their heating on at all.
Around 11% say they will be forced to take out a loan to pay their energy bill, while this number rises to 17% for people with children under 18.
Meanwhile, as the cost of supporting ‘the current thing’ begins to bite, appetite for sending more money to Ukraine is on the wane.
Back in March 48% of Brits supported sanctions on Russia, even if it meant higher inflation and energy bills, but this figure has now dropped to 38%.
“It is a struggle,” Sam Pointer, an insurance account manager with three young children told the Sunday Times.
“If the government could find some way to support Ukraine to come to a peaceful solution, that would be great. But I’m not too hopeful.”
Many observers are warning of widespread civil unrest unless the government takes radical steps in the form of financial bailouts.
One senior energy industry figure told the government that when people “realize how bad this is going to get,” they could take their anger to the streets in the form of violent demonstrations.

Millions of Britons could be asked to limit energy use this winter to head off blackouts by avoiding using gas and electricity at peak times and turning off the lights on days when the wind doesn’t blow, an energy expert has warned.
Kathryn Porter, from consultancy Watt-Logic, said it was possible households could be asked not to use energy guzzling appliances at peak hours or eat their dinner at a different time.
In the US tens of millions of people have been asked not to use washing machines, dishwashers and ovens between 2pm and 8pm because of the global energy crisis. Charging cars before 9pm is also not advised.
Away from the home, in Germany, street lights are being dimmed, traffic lights at quieter junctions are turned off, hot water and central heating is off in public buildings, monuments will no longer be lit overnight, lighting monuments overnight.
Ms Porter has said that it’s ‘very possible’ the UK will see plans for energy rationing, despite Liz Truss absolutely ruling it out.
She told BBC’s World at One: ‘Unfortunately, as each winter goes by, the risk of blackouts is increasing because we have been replacing thermal and nuclear generation with intermittent renewables. That makes us vulnerable in times when wind output is low.
‘We have had quite low wind output in July and August…Demand is a lot higher in the winter, so if we have those weather conditions in the winter, our system is going to get very tight and that raises a risk of blackouts.’
With similar schemes in California and Texas – Ms Porter expects that authorities could ask consumers to reduce their use of electricity during peak hours – although in the US all these schemes are not enforced in law.
‘It is possible we will see something similar here this winter,’ she said, adding: ‘I think it would be more an appeal or request for people to have their dinner earlier or later, or avoid using large appliances like washing machines during peak hours. I think it would be voluntary rather than compulsory’.

Power Company Seizes Control Of Thermostats In Colorado During Heatwave
Around 22,000 households in Colorado lost the ability to control their thermostats after the power company seized control of them during a heatwave.
After temperatures soared past 90 degrees, residents were left confused when they tried to adjust their air conditioning and found locked controls displaying a message that said “energy emergency.”
Xcel confirmed to local news station Denver7 that “22,000 customers who had signed up for the Colorado AC Rewards program were locked out of their smart thermostats for hours on Tuesday.”
“I mean, it was 90 out, and it was right during the peak period,” Tony Talarico told the news station. “It was hot.”
Talarico said he is normally able to override the “energy emergency” message, but not on this occasion.
“So, our thermostat was locked in at 78 or 79,” he said.

Demonstrators calling for a transition to completely plant-based food production say the Government is turning a blind eye to ‘climate, ecological and moral crises’.
The group has vowed to heavily disrupt the supply of dairy ‘day after day’ during September, branding the industry ‘cruel and destructive’.
They held signs reading ‘Plant-Based Future’ and ‘Rewild our Land’ as they attempt to stop shoppers from buying milk.
Animal Rebellion members entered a Whole Foods in London, and Marks & Spencer’s stores in Southampton, Birmingham, and Manchester.
It comes after supporters of the group emptied out milk onto the floor of Harrods in July in protest against the dairy industry.
The month before, the group stormed the racecourse during the Epsom Derby calling for an end to the ‘cruelty and harm the horseracing industry represents’.

Times Newspaper Highlights How “No White Men” Will Hold Major Office in New UK Government
The Times newspaper in the UK has published an article noting how “no white men” will hold major office in the new government, set to be led by Liz Truss.
Truss is widely expected to win the contest to become PM later today, defeating her only remaining opponent, Rishi Sunak, who is of Indian descent.
The new leader is set to name a cabinet that will contain zero white men, with the Times apparently believing this to be a good thing.
‘Great offices of state set to contain no white men’ reads the headline of the piece.
“Liz Truss is preparing to appoint the first cabinet in history in which none of the great offices of state will be held by a white man,” writes Henry Zeffman.
I guess this is yet another example of ‘white male privilege’.

Similar to the US, in the UK, taking note of demographic changes and suggesting there may be a negative aspect to there being fewer white people in the future is seen as dangerous, racist, extremist rhetoric.
However, celebrating such developments as a harbinger of the wonderful benefits of “diversity” is lauded as a high status belief.

The push to make ‘air travel history’
Within 5 to 7 years, ordinary people will no longer have the right to fly in the way that they were used to pre-2020. Within 10 years, they won’t have the right to fly at all.
The plan is to make air travel the exclusive domain of the super wealthy only. Throughout 2022, we have seen airlines cancelling flights and routes by the bucketload. In the US, 34,000 flights scheduled for November were removed – a reduction of 40 percent. To date, British Airways has cut 30,000 flights from its original flight schedule for 2022, a reduction of 18 percent. And yet no-one’s really questioning any of it.
There are all sorts of references to “staff shortages” and “fuel costs” but these are just pre-texts. What nobody is prepared to say is that all these cuts are being made in accordance with specific target-driven quotas from the UN, which the airlines all agreed to in 2019.
The goal is to gradually restrict people’s ability to fly, before eliminating the sector altogether. The ‘step-change’ approach is just to condition you into accepting it. Take a look at the 2019 UKFires document, ABSOLUTE ZERO. On page 2 it states:
“There are no options for zero-emissions flight in the time available for action, so the industry faces a rapid contraction. DEVELOPMENTS IN ELECTRIC FLIGHT MAY BE RELEVANT BEYOND 2050.”
Page 5 sets out the timeline for 2020-2029 with “all airports except Heathrow, Glasgow and Belfast to close”. From 2030 to 2049: “ALL REMAINING AIRPORTS CLOSE”.
The signs of what is happening are everywhere. France has banned internal domestic flights that are less than 2 hours. If there’s a train available, you must now take it. You can’t just jump on a ‘short haul’ flight in France anymore. No-one ever asked the French people if they wanted such a ban, it was just imposed on them anyway.
In Norway, politicians are considering individual flight quotas, restricting how many flights you can take yearly and where. They also want a ban on duty free shopping and internal domestic flights like France.
In the Netherlands, Schiphol, 70 percent owned by the Dutch Government, announced the world’s first flight cap at Amsterdam Airport, the world’s third largest aviation hub. Passenger taxes are to be tripled and airport charges increased 37 percent.

UK Police Department Savaged For Defending Convicted Serial Pedophile Against ‘Hate’
A police department in the UK has come under fire after it appeared to defend a convicted pedophile, asserting that anyone ‘misgendering’ the individual would not be tolerated.
Sussex Police responded to posts from women’s rights campaigners who expressed concerns that the 58-year-old transgender pedophile, going by the name of Sally Ann Dixon, could be incarcerated in a women’s prison.
The individual, a biological male previously known as John Stephen Dixon until 2004, was sentenced to prison after being found guilty of 30 indecent assaults against children dating from 1989 to 1996.
Rebel News reporter Ian Miles Cheong noted that police issued a thinly veiled threat to investigate anyone misgendering the child rapist for potential ‘hate crimes’.

Sunderland City Council Rolls Out Social Credit System For Travel

UK – SMART city Sunderland has deleted its social credit tweet.
So here it is again. The council is rolling out a social credit score for travel, recording all your movements on an app & rewarding those who are ‘good’ citizens with cash.
