According to a banking freind of ours society is carying a maximum of around a hunder million in cash today, so that is less than a lottery ticket each, so it is a cashless society by about 97%.
I prefer a different kind of cashless socirty, and as we have never ever had a credit card our cash has been converted using personal in house skills towards a minimum of cash wherever possible, this is the best way to stop using credit and debt and creates the true cashless system, and the more one does it the less taxes you end up paying.

Its a no brainer really.

Like everything else that's detrimental to our freedom. The sheeple are sleep walking into their own tyrannical demise. I watch as customers think they're so cool, as they bend their right wrist and slide their mobile phone under the scanner, or just as often their credit or debit card. What they don't realize is, that motion is preparing them for the future actions as to when the chip will be inserted into their wrist. Already many people are wearing a chip in the workplace, and to get into night clubs, or fitness centers. It's very disturbing how easily the sheeple can be manipulated, and with the idea that they are somehow better off with the Orwellian boot on their neck. Of course, we now have a mamby-pamby society that doesn't give a fuck about anyone else except themselves. It's all about selfies on Facebook & Twitter and Me! Me! Me! Unfortunately, the future doesn't look good. If you want to see a little glimpse of where YOU will be sooner than you may think. I recommend buying a copy of the movie 1984. It's absorbing, and will allow the viewer to identify where we are already. Remember, privacy equals freedom.
No PRIVACY.. No FREEDOM...  To the people that continue to defend our privacy always remember. Until they are AWAKE, they are a THREAT to YOU!

Sadly the sheeple think that this technology is cool and trendy. that is how it is marketed in the material world we live in. People like to brag that they have 4 or 5 Alexa devices in their home rather than worry what effect they may be having on their families.
Kids are ridiculed if they don't have the latest smartphones and this is all part of the agenda.
You are right about the Me Me Me analogy, it sums up the modern world so well.
The Future does not look good as it stands, that is certain, but although many people are
waking up to governments and corporations, they are not prepared to give up their technology as they are too addicted to it. That will be their downfall!!

I keep telling my two daughters to not get sucked into this cashless society. I have been in Sainsbury's twice now and the checkouts have gone down while shopping so cash only which causes immense frustration for customers and staff, and the ATMs outside seem to always crash at the same time so you can't go out and get cash to go back in and pay for your shopping. I just think this is the sign of the times that if we go completely cashless we are screwed. And when it goes pear shaped, for whatever reason without getting too dark and conspiratorial, you simply can't buy anything. I had to get my wife to meet me with some cash to pay for the trolley load of shopping I had. The warning signs are there and we will not be going cashless. Yes its convenient and arguably faster but when the pat hits the fan what you gonna do? If I could afford it I'd be buying gold and silver just in case the paper money also becomes worthless.

In a cashless society even gold and silver will be of little use as the establishments that are already being set up, like their crypto-currencies, who will coin your gold and silver for their electronic reality looming. The powers that should not be will give those with metals so long to convert them before closing the doors to that route completely.

I have shared my thoughts many times and I still hold firm on skills as the very best currency of them all, with skills you can produce much of what you require for every day living, not all but a large percentage of things.

If we are as a nation and of nations to survive what is planned we must begin re-skilling as of tomorrow because once all of the real life skills have been farmed out the farmers then own your sould and the word serf will become a welcome greeting if your to syrvive the elites machinations who have already said, we will have to plead with them if we are allowed to live or die; This is not a joke they thrown around like confetti, it is how they want things to be.

As a maker of things I see even raw materials being rationed especially recyclable materials as the system closes most of the doors to chintz, if you look at most skips today they are surrounded by weldmesh fences and sheeted over for our safety, well Stig of the Dump would be turning in his grave today as his good useable material is thrown into land fil sites or chopped up to make kitchen worktops.

Believ me, the elite have every place amongst the stones upturned and planed in advance, this is why we must at least try to begin fending for ourselves because as we are this is not the utopia that it could be if we simply started working together for each other, now.

I agree with everyone about the Orwellian overtones to this but also what if there is some kind of natural disaster that stops these devices from working such as a hurricane. What good is your smartphone or whatever then. I personally use cash all the time. I don't buy anything on the Internet these days except train and plane tickets. Support your local shops because they are disappearing at a rapid rate. I haven't bought anything from Amazon for the last 5 years since I found out the terrible effect they were having on other businesses and the awful way in which they treat their workers. There's nothing cool about paying by card or a mobile device, however you pay it's just a means to an end not an end in itself.

I have never bought anything from Amazon and when I buy from Ebay I try to find the small shops who are local to me if possible, Sometimes you can pypass Ebay if there is a phone number and buy direct.

I have a smart phone but rarely use it other than making films as it way cheaper than buying a new video camera and just as good these days, I think I have texed only three times in my life.

Where we are the neighbours always have deliveries from the local supermarkets some hardly ever leaving their house in weeks, what a sad existance this must be.

I agree always shop at your local small outlets if you can, here we have a few left but they are not being replaced when they retire, some shops are owned by the same companies, one has the three largest outfits, Edinburugh Woolen, The Mountain Warehouse and another which has just closed, and when they do close they are still empty to the tune of at least 6 shops on the last count.

Nat West and Yorkshire banks have gone, and there are no shops left other than food outlets that make anything, it just gets better every day.
