I believed the story that Santa traveled the whole globe in one night, delivering presents via the chimney, to children all over the world, through my early childhood. This was in part because I trusted my parents account of the story and because I believed he had magical powers. I began to think something wasn't quite right, one night when I followed my parents carying presents into our lounge room on Christmas night. I also wondered why my Dad told me Santa needed a glass of beer because he gets thirsty on his journey and why we let them install a gas heater in our chimney.
As for the Dinosaur story. I started to question the narrative during the first Jurassic Park movie, when they were hiding from a T Rex in a car,and one of them said 'don't move it sees by movement', it dawned on me how could you possibly know that? Like the Santa story revelation, likewise I started to think how can anyone know what a Dinosaur even looks like and better still what it sounds like when it roars. I am not talking about woolly mammoths that have been found in glaciers as they are hairy elephants that live in cold climates. I am perhaps questioning the imaginasauruses we are being presented, along with the computer generated back story, that we see in so called documentaries. I am posting this You tube video that sheds an interesting light on the reason we have the Dinosaur story.

The Bible says there were giant creatures on both land and sea. Also there were Giant people called the children of Anak, of which the nine foot tall Goliath was one but when I look at the current animals and people I have trouble with the stupid creatures we are presented with as Dinosaurs.

I too have always had trouble believing the dinosaur hype.
The whole industry around dinosaurs is very big business and I have always struggled to believe how science seems to know so much about dinosaurs but very little about early man.
It is a scam they have sold very well to the masses.
Misreading the Mokele-Mbembe -

There aren’t living sauropod dinosaurs in the Congo. But why did people ever think there were?

Still believe an asteroid killed the dinosaurs? Think again—new theory suggests -

Some experts have long believed that a massive asteroid was a primary cause of dinosaurs' extinction some 65 million years ago, but new analysis from a University at Albany psychology professor suggests that the dinosaurs were in trouble long before the asteroid hit...

Last night on the BBC radio I heard that scientists were trying to work out Dinosaur DNA, by retracing bird DNA back to the Imagineasaurus they believe they 'evolved' from. That is really keeping the dream alive.
It's much easier with Santa claus though, their breeding season starts in the lead up to Christmas and finishes shortly after.
Yes we get the BBC here in Australia too, what a blessing.
