Hi Steve, I thought I would share a recent conversation I had with a man who was a reiki master, he practiced healing and sold various crystals. I asked him how he used the power he said that he channeled and where he thought it came from. I then shared stories of the miracles I had seen in the name of Jesus. He told me he had recently had a very frightening experience with what he described as a dark entity, which he went on to say took him a long time to shake. My reply was that when you walk a fine line between good and evil, you are at risk of that happening. I said Jesus, who I serve on the other hand is all powerful and feared by the dark realm. I quoted these verses.
Act 16:16-18 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.
I don't believe personally that crystals, statues and other inanimate objects contain spiritual power, anymore than preforming various rituals protects you. Spiritual forces can only be defeated by spiritual power not natural objects. In a battle between Jesus an Satan there is no contest, that's why I am at peace with which side I am on.
I ran into the same man again recently and he said he appreciated our conversation and looked forward to having another one in the future.
As I often do on this Forum I am once again just presenting an alternative view.
