I am sure many will have noticed that the forums are awash with spam adverts which in some cases are greater than the members content.

Does the forum have enough staff to make sure they are either deleted or charged for their content a placed into an appropriate folder.

The forum cannot run smoothly if there are allowed to rule the sub forums.

Just saying.
Admin did ask for volunteers to be moderators but NeverĀ gave an update.
I did offer my services but have had no reply..
The spam puts me off using the site as there are more spam posts than genuine posts.
Please can as many genuine members as possible start flagging these posts to admin and give them negative rating. I do as many as possible but quite often run out of my daily "quota".
I will send another email to admin, and would ask anyone who logs in daily to maybe consider being a moderator so that we can get rid of these spammers.
If they get removed quickly, they will soon realise that they are wasting their time, whereas at the moment, it can take weeks to get them removed.
Yes, same here. Very frustrating.

I think that at this time this forum isn't "moderated" at all.

I've been trying the neg rating scheme.
This is of no use if there are so many as the last 24 hours.

On most other forums, first posts by new members only get posted after approval by a moderator.
It would be a good solution, if you would ban these trolls and delete their posts if you get moderator rights...
This forum has the ability to grow exponentially if enough control of spam was curtailed, other than that I don't think it needs moderating at all, the member who use a community based outlook can do that by themselves.

I am willing to delete the spam and self moderate myself, sometimes its not easy and best not to answer unless facts are extant.

I think Richie should have a look for himself, and decide what needs doing.

I would suggest by the numbers that we have a communities based forum, whic I could contribute a ton of different projects and experiences towards.

I only have 1 gig of data on my mobile for the summer but can still gets lots done interim once as summer gets going.

I think that you may be correct. I think that admin is only moderating on a part time basis at the mo, I log in most days so would be happy to remove the spammers and ban them instantly, which would decrease the number of repeat offenders and certainly decrease the clogging up of the threads. I can't seem to get a response from Admin though, which is not helping the situation.

I guess that Richie checks this forum less than once a week, thinks something must be done about these spammers, and then forgets all about it, because he has other things to do...

Maybe the best strategy is to keep bumbing this thread.

Still hoping that awakened53 gets the moderator rights needed to "fix" this forum...
Still hoping that awakened53 gets the moderator rights needed to get rid of the trolls that derail this forum...
It's good to see some "genuine" members making posts...

This hasn't stopped the trolls from derailing the forum with advertisements though!
