The BBC is reporting three wildfires on the Isle of Barra. Apparently Barra is like tinder at the moment.

Does this strike anyone else as weird? Did Barra completely miss the snow and storm? It's off the coast of Scotland and Scotland took a real beating.

It seems its not uncommon to have fires there.

A Met Office forecaster said that the west coast of Scotland had been dry because the wind had been coming from the east. The West Highlands of Scotland had also acted as a barrier blocking all the snow from getting across to the west coast meaning the area remained dry. March, however, was about a month/two months earlier than usual for such wildfires. Showers in the west coast of Scotland are likely in the week.
