A young man asked me the other day, why would I need to speak in tongues. My reply was if you were charged with murder you would be appointed a lawyer to represent you in court. You could tell your lawyer your side of the story and he would present it to the judge in the way and in the legal language, that pleased the judge. Over on the other side would be the prosecuting lawyer, calling out accusations against you to the judge. If you don't have a good lawyer you will be found guilty. Most of our legal principles come from the Bible, even down to the number of witnesses against and for a matter, also the jury system. On Richie's show Karma was mentioned. Perhaps, we don't know what is required to survive what is to come. Back to my reply Rom 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities (problems): for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings (words) which cannot be uttered. (not allowed to be spoken by humans)
Rom 8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints (Gods separate ones, sanctified ones) according to the will of God. 1Co 14:14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. Heb 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
No, a Catholic priest or an earthly high priest cannot speak for you, only a divine high priest.
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Mat 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 10:33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
You may or may not believe this, you may think I will tell God this or that when I see him. Perhaps we all need to be well informed before we get there. I am personally comfortable with my relationship with my creator, because it's not just about Judgement day it's about everyday.
