I know this subject has been pondered over for many years but I think that i have come up with a thesis of how the managed to pull it off.
It all began a decade earlier after the first basememnt bombing took place back in 93, I believe this was the temp test of the sub levels and how much explosive it would take to remove enough space to collect each tower at a later date, in the picture below you will see what the 1,336 lb urea nitrate–hydrogen gas enhanced device created.

This is when I think they prepared the sub levels for the future event, during the lock down period when the repairs were carried out is when I think they prepped the sub levels, 7 sub layers to be removed to collect the majority of the steel colums etc later.
Travel forward to the fated day and you will see in a few videos where underground explosions were heard jut before the planes hit the buildings, this was done to take out and or weaken the middle main columns, as the building began to travel towards ground zero the sub levels were removed one by one unseen from the public eye.
At the same time the outer facade was left intact to act as a giant funnel to guid the bulk of the weakened steel down the very middle, only does the outer facade begin to peel outwards like peeling a banana as the middle area became too full to move out of the way.
The hollow beams and columns were filled with thermite at key points to weaken the areas where each level raises up the building getting where the beams and columns get slightly smaller and weaker as the building rises, it would have to be done this way otherwise the compaction and increasing mass would eventually slow down the speed it drops.
The buildings sheer weight and height was used to push downwards, as the mass fell no explosives woud be needed only gravity, the key areas were removed or melted to allow the increasing weight to push.
After the act was over all there was a pile of debris 90 feet high, the rest now lying compressed into the sub levels and the lobby which was also a huge open space.
