Lack of like minded meet up groups - LizF - 01-28-2018
Hi everyone, I am totally loving this forum.
I am a bit of a hermit, I go to work then come home. If I go out at the weekend it's to go food shopping, and I have to take my husband!
I've forced myself to book events this year, David Icke, Richard D Hall, UFO conference.
I have also tried to find local meet up groups with alternative views, but have found nothing.
I was just wondering if you guys attended any local groups, or if you had set one up, or if you feel we need to do more as an enlightened community to start making this happen?

LizF, I agree......A Richie Allen/Alternative fanclub meet??!! The only things around my way are for cross stitch or local planning meetings, fun.

Haha me too Styleezy! My husband actually told me he saw a local Hamster Show advertised in our local chip shop! I almost want to go and spark up a conversation about human cloning, see how it goes down!

Myself and my wife live in North Devon. we know a lot of people who are into the truth as it were, or should I say are aware of what is really going on. There are no groups that I'm aware of in our area. The nearest would be the UK Column monthly meet up which is a 4 hour round trip for us so it is too far (kids etc). Even though we know quite a lot of people who are aware of these subjects they aren't interested enough to meet up regularly let alone become active. BTW Liz, me and my wife are going to see Rich Hall in May, we both love his shows and really looking forward to meeting him. I almost went to see him a few years ago in Exeter but couldn't make it for some reason

I'm a bit of a hermit too, outside my immediate family I see very few people. I just can't be bothered dumbing myself down to fit in or keeping my mouth shut about things I know people won't understand.
when I do interact with people (excluding at work) I always speak my mind and am bluntly honest. I'm past caring what people think and belive unless we all start speaking our minds sand listening to eachother, we are doomed. I may upset alot of people and many think I'm crazy but I find it quite liberating. also you find out if people are worth getting to know pretty quickly.

I literally know nobody with the same views as me, this forum feels really liberating, I often say to my husband, what is the point of me, living in this little village knowing such mind bending stuff? I think that's why I'm starting to go to events and post on here, I feel I need to be part of a network. I dunno, just worry that I spend all my time increasing my knowledge, watching it unfold, with no way if stopping it.

I just feel out of place in most social situations DrToadMaster, I would love a chance to meet up with like minded people, but am struggling to find anything. I kind of think we need to be doing something about this. I admire you're honesty, I must admit I do still censor myself when talking to other people etc. I think you're right that we all need to star listening to each other, I just wish people were more open minded I guess.

I'm very careful now about what I say and to whom I say it when it comes to these matters. I stumbled into this subject in 2008 after losing my job because of the so called credit crunch. I googled credit crunch and less than 8 hours later had watched The Moneymasters and then Loosechange. What a day that was! It turned my world upside down. My wife watched them both that night and we've both been into these issues ever since. The reason I'm careful about who I talk to about this stuff is because it has cost me family, friends and 2 jobs now. Most people do not want to go there, Occasionally I meet people who do and sometimes meet people who are already into this stuff. It is lovely to be surrounded by open minded people who are aware if you like. I've been to 3 Ian Crane talks now and there was such a friendly atmosphere despite the subjects

Great, I think he is at AV9 this year, we're thinking of going, that's what would help my hermitusm (?) I'm sure, being around people you can basically be honest with. I can't believe the effect it's had on your life, losing 2 jobs, that's awful.

I was thinking the same if anyone is in the Midlands?

I used to think of myself as a pretty aware person and compared to a lot of people I think I was but increasingly over the last 7 or 8 years for various reasons I've come to realise that this world is not like I thought it was. There are a few people who share my views on certain things but no-one who gets the totality of how this world is or how I now believe it to be. It would be good if there were get-togethers where people who have come to see the world in a different way could have discussions.
Sorry Steveio to hear about your losing jobs and friends because you have a different way of looking at things. The world does seem to be becoming much more intolerant and the increasing amount of censorship I find truly scary.
