In a so called progressive society, why is it such a crime to believe in a creator? - Greg D - 07-05-2018 Our current generations are the only ones in the worlds history, not to believe in a creator in some form. Is this because science and their mainstream narrative, have proved beyond reasonable doubt that we were not created? The same science, that after they discovered the incredibly complex genetic CODE contained in all life, went on to claim that genetics proved the theory of evolution. Those same authorities also speak freely about the LAWS of nature and the LAWS of physics, and go all out to find the GOD particle, then try to explain it away as natural selection. The fact that humans can reason at all, is a mystery in itself. The human brain for the most part is unexplained, its reasoning ability, also the brain functions that allow us to problem solve and adapt. One scientist I saw on a TV program, once described the brain as like a library, with many books containing all manner of information in each book. He then went on to say, if parts of the brain are damaged, then the remaining parts becomes the entire library, self contained in the book or books that remain. The brain unlike a computer can think laterally. When we look at a wall or the horizon, we know that there is a whole world on the other side of it, but a computer can only see the wall. On the same science program, one of the scientists spent 24 hours programing his computer, to come up with a mathematical question, that he believed was too difficult to be answered by a human mind. As he was showing it to his colleagues, a man who was just passing by, looked at the question and gave him the correct answer. When the passer by was quizzed on how he knew the answer, he replied I don't know how, I just did. This same principle is confirmed to me personally, when I see a basketball player throw the ball, from the other end of a court, after the siren and get the ball in. Then the same player can miss two shots from the free throw line. In the first instance incredibly complicated calculations are preformed by the brain, with very little input from the player. In the second example there is a greater input from the player, along with the perceived pressure of the game. Which restricts the brains function and causes the player to miss the shots, regardless of how many millions of dollars the players are paid to play. Can they really take all the glory, for mastering the tools they have been given. Then we come to the question of faith. You can still fly in a plane without knowing exactly how it works, or anything about the pilot for that matter. When you try to start your car on a cold wet night, you have faith that it will start, even if you don't know why it does. Likewise if you don't believe that there is a God and you don't believe he exists, are you likely to witness a miracle? The answer is probably no. An atheist was rowing on Loch Ness, when suddenly the monster appeared, the atheist cried out, God help me. Suddenly everything froze and God said I thought you didn't believe in me? to which the atheist replied, I didn't believe in the Loch Ness monster 10 seconds ago. Many people call out to God at some time in their lives, without really expecting anything to happen. Having said that sometimes things do happen, but they are then dismissed as a coincidence, or as good fortune. My experience is different in that, when I ask God for something miracles happen, but then again I expect them too. Mat 14:26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. Mat 14:27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. Mat 14:28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. Mat 14:29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. Mat 14:30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. Mat 14:31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? Perhaps God has given us the power to reason, so we can chose to spend eternity with him by choice. Maybe he has chosen also to give us the ability to reason because he is not looking for robots, to share his riches with. The usual questions arise, if there is a God, why does he let people starve and suffer hardship? The answer is simple, its not God that causes suffering, it is mans greed, as the earth was designed to provide plentifully for all of us. Then there is the influence of the evil alternative, that presents an upside down, corrupted version of creation, designed to deceive mankind and to rob them of a relationship with their creator. When I consider the amazing universe I see around me, I do wander why God bothers with mankind, but I take great joy in the fact he does. Highlighted is where your minutes fail to hold water, the rest is good conjecture but meaningless really. So, the Earth was supposedly given to provide for its inhabitants, then how sick is a god who adds in design faults where the beauty and wonder is to be destroyed by different entities that live upon it and eat each other, healing one part of it and leaving the rest to die from the lonelines of the heart due to neglect is not the perfect design is it. The planet is like any other engine management system, but if you don't top up its engine oil and service that engine it is simply going to break down, this is why religion simply cannot let anyone live under the sun in the peace of quietness and continaully tops up the magic, that is not found in the animal world, one good attribute of nature as a whole is, it does not need religion or forms of godlyness, all it needs is air, fire and water, THE true godhead without it would be like that engine without its oil, damaged and beyond repair What I would like to see is, the whole caring for a common want and not what others think we should be thinking, then it would be so much easier for everyone, but alas there are those who cannot let go of the dream that is supposed to last forever, and finally, we will all find out one day where we are going when our eyes take to slumber for the last time. RE: In a so called progressive society, why is it such a crime to believe in a creator? - Greg D - 07-05-2018 Who made you the thought police, Apprentice. It seems that because I look at things differently to you, in your eyes I have no right to post anything on this Forum of ideas. It also seems that every thing I say or put into a discussion has to be stamped with your template of truth, as you see it. Perhaps you can just let people read my comments and make up their own minds, without your all knowing assistance, to help them. I wasn't aware by the way that you had been made the moderator of this Forum. I get it, you don't believe God is the creator. Of course you must have the evidence to prove that. Self pity is not a strengthening attribute Greg I cannot ever re-collect saying that nobody can think what they want, or cannot say anything they like, but it would be better if it came from our own hearts instead of a book, I see things and react and or respond accordingly, by their actions, not from hearsay, here there is a huge difference. How is it possible for me to prevent anyone from reading what you or anyone else writes or is saying; What you write is there for all to see and read and respond, isn't it?? So it now seems we are now back at base level, and you need proofes from me, LOL. Your asking me for proofe of my words and or actions, however! I can recollect someone saying they have seen and or performed miracles and are preaching what words in a book say, is what we might do, or is the way things should or could be, so, Please, no more of this purile preaching at me, the onus for proofe falls firmly into your lap Greg, please do not try and point such an unprovable burden upon myself as if I have performed those miracles myself, this old Jegi mind tick will not work upon me, I closed the bible a very long time ago after seeing what was in it, where I saw pure hearsay and very poor conjecture at that, but I am not telling people not to open it. What I can say is; I have already shown everyone who has been following this thread where they can witness what is above us in space/Astronomy and how the churches have used that science and re-orientated it for their own religious aggrandizement, and advise we all do the same, before asking for any truths or making up their minds on anything, and that is to open both books and see their similarities, on which every opinion we have, and what it is based upon, the two are inceperable. Like I said earlier you cannot make a silk purse out of a sows ear, but one can use ones own instinct to see where the forks in the road have clearly been laid out for us, No, I do not believe in a creator, but I also do not say there isn't one, I cannot proove that neither can you, NO, I choose not to stamp my authority down either of those roads, I crossed their path and went down the middle of the grass a very long ago. If you cannot see where I am coming from then I do not know what else to say, that is not going to upset you further and trigger your disgust for my diss-belief in what you are saying. RE: In a so called progressive society, why is it such a crime to believe in a creator? - Greg D - 07-06-2018 I have personally been healed of the symptoms of a stroke, that just left me instantly after prayer. My wife was healed of cancer, my three year old son was healed of a cracked scull instantly by prayer. A member of our church was healed of ice addiction and depression. I could continue these accounts for hours. Many such stories are written in the Bible, the book that you dismissed years ago, by your choice. I don't have to prove anything to you Apprentice, as I don't answer to you. I have witnessed these signs and miracles personally and in the presence of others including non Christians. The God I present never changes and is faithful to his word. You have this idea that because you don't believe something it can't be true. Perhaps you need to 'get over yourself' as we say in this country. I never said you have to answer to me Greg, why do you always quote that, but if you put yourself upon a pedastal, and in a world where we still have a modicum of free speech left, then open yourself to questioning, otherwise its best to remain silent, you cannot preach these things and not be asked to confirm these without taking presidensce over them, otherwise your going to make a fool of yourself, as Geller did with his spoon tricks. Then you say you don't have to proove anything, I have only asked kindly for you to do this, not demanded you do, then ask me to proove you wrong, can you not see the foolishness behind yours Royal Gaurd which is like a form of religious anti semitism whenever questioned honesty and directly. And why the need for the personal attack manouvers going on here, which is basically showing your overall weakness and a type of fanatisism often found along religious corridoors, and you do so without proofe of personality on my behalf, and talking of acts performed just like the book your connected to and preach from verbatim, which I am calling you out over, since you professed to have witnessed them, I cannot be any clearer than that can I? So how can you get the logic back into this debate without making a further spectacle of yourself? and continuing to preach from a book that has no answers nor authors only myths and miracles unproven. Perhaps you need to re-write the bible again as it has been done many times, and while your at it a few new names for the ficticious charachters that I think they are, having no proofe of authorship or persons related who can verify the truths or non truths behind these myths. I sense a melt down of biblicl proportions coming on maybe, and blasphemy notices towards me because you cannot back up what you say. RE: In a so called progressive society, why is it such a crime to believe in a creator? - Greg D - 07-06-2018 It appears to me Apprentice, that I would have more joy trying to reason with a supermarket robotic check out device. As it seems no matter what I say, or how many times I say it, I get the same scripted response. 'Have a nice Day'.
