The son of a suspended anti-vaxxer nurse who doesn’t believe Covid-19 exists and sparked violent clashes at a mass rally of virus deniers in Trafalgar Square has branded her ‘dangerous’ and an ‘attention-seeker’.  
Sebastian Shemirani, 21, whose mother Kate Shemirani, 54, from East Sussex, has become notorious for spreading baseless conspiracy theories during the pandemic, said he no longer has a relationship with her and believes she’s ‘too far gone to be helped’.
Speaking to the BBC, Eton scholar Sebastian, who is currently in his final year studying at the London School of Economics, said he is concerned about the impact his mother’s claims could have on public health.
‘What she’s doing is dangerous,’ he said. ‘Thousands of people are taking her to be this source of truth and this saint, and I wish I could tell them all my mum is not the person that you think she is.

Breaking: CNN To Stop Broadcast in Russia After Putin Signs Law Introducing Jail Terms for Fake News -

You just can’t make this stuff up! Fake News media propaganda outlet CNN, announced they will discontinue operation in Russia after President Putin introduced jail time for Fake News on the Russian army.

Reuters.com reported: CNN will stop broadcasting in Russia, the news channel said on Friday after the introduction of a new law there that could jail anyone intentionally spreading “fake” news.

Russian officials have said that false information has been spread by Russia’s enemies such as the United States and its Western European allies in an attempt to sow discord among the Russian people.

Lawmakers passed amendments to the criminal code making the spread of “fake” information an offence punishable with fines or jail terms. They also imposed fines for anyone calling for sanctions against Russia following the invasion of Ukraine.

“CNN will stop broadcasting in Russia while we continue to evaluate the situation and our next steps moving forward,” a spokesperson said.

News organizations including the BBC and Canadian Broadcasting Corp have also suspended reporting from Russia following the passing of the law.

Russia has called its actions in Ukraine a “special operation”.

The Russian Parliament on Friday approved a bill that would impose prison sentences of up to 15 years for “spreading fake news about the Russian Armed Forces and the military operation in Ukraine,” as the Moscow Times summarized it.

“A group of people that use their position to spread fake information or distribute fake news with falsified evidence could be jailed for 5 to 10 years. If the falsified information has grave consequences, the punishment will be 10 to 15 years in prison,” the Moscow Times reported.
The Duma furnished some examples of punishable “fake news,” including “old photos of burned military equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces that have been photoshopped to have markings of the Russian military,” and eight-year-old footage from the war-torn Donbas region of eastern Ukraine repurposed to look like fresh “crimes perpetrated by the Russian military.” Read more

US officials admit they’re literally just lying to the public about Russia

NBC News has a new report out citing multiple anonymous US officials, humorously titled “In a break with the past, U.S. is using intel to fight an info war with Russia, even when the intel isn’t rock solid“.

The officials say the Biden administration has been rapidly pushing out “intelligence” about Russia’s plans in Ukraine that is “low-confidence” or “based more on analysis than hard evidence”, or even just plain false, in order to fight an information war against Putin.

The report says that toward this end the US government has deliberately circulated false or poorly evidenced claims about impending chemical weapons attacks, about Russian plans to orchestrate a false flag attack in the Donbass to justify an invasion, about Putin’s advisors misinforming him, and about Russia seeking arms supplies from China.
