They forgot to take into account that according to the CDC, only 6% of all coronavirus deaths (in the US) were related to the coronavirus alone; on average there were 2.6 additional (possible) causes per death.
This means that a better estimate of the COVID-19 fatality rate, would be to multiply 0.14% with 0.06, leading to a fatality rate of 0.008%...
