Brits Will, On Average, Live Nine Months Less – Dr Vernon Coleman

Because of Lockdowns, GPs Abandoning Face to Face Medicine and Hospital Department Closures
In May 2020 I warned that deaths from the lockdowns and resulting closure of health care services would far exceed the number of deaths from covid-19.
And it quickly became clear that this warning was entirely justified.
Now there is evidence showing that the average Briton can expect nine months less because of the absurd and unnecessary closure of services by GPs and hospitals.
Delayed diagnoses and delayed treatment for cancer and heart disease are the cause of the fall in life expectancy.
How do I know this?
Because financial analysts report that pension providers are expected to gain £7.4 billion in profits over the next five years – as a direct result of the lower life expectancy.
A fall in life expectancy will, of course, fit in perfectly with the aims of those promoting Agenda 21.

The Death of Health Care in Britain – Dr Vernon Coleman

An old man in hospital had received no nursing care for a week. He wasn’t fed for three days. He asked a nurse if he could be bathed. She brought him a damp paper towel and told him to do it himself.
A 92-year-old former ward sister was told that she had terminal liver failure. The doctor had apparently conducted an examination via a video link. A face to face visit was refused. Taken by a relative to the local A&E department, the woman was diagnosed with a simple infection – treated with antibiotics. Three days later she made a full recovery. (There had been a 12 hour wait on a ward trolley.)
A patient was admitted to hospital as an emergency had to wait 49 hours before a bed could be found for him.
A patient with a broken arm, in great pain, was told by an ambulance service that her condition wasn’t life threatening and that the wait would be eight hours.
An 89-year-old woman waited six hours for an ambulance and died.
It is now recognised that failing ambulance services are responsible for many deaths. In Northern Ireland ambulance delays were a contributory factor in 14 deaths. Ambulances spend 25% to 30% of their time waiting outside emergency departments.
An NHS boss who had a stroke was taken to hospital by her husband and recovered. She said it might have been different if she’d called 999.
Waiting times for ambulances have never been as long. The ambulance service is so bad that patients are told to call a taxi – it’ll be quicker.
Such stories now abound.
Hospitals are so badly run that millions of people would rather stay at home – even if that means dying alone and without medical care. Hospital staff have taken away dignity and hope – even these are among the most valuable things a doctor or nurse can offer. They have replaced hope and dignity with despair and disillusionment.
Seriously ill patients who visit Accident and Emergency units in hospitals must routinely wait ten hours for treatment. It is reported that 90% of patients who visit A&E go there because they cannot contact their GP. That’s not surprising. The average GP now works a three day week or less. Most made a fortune giving covid jabs and are trying to keep their tax bills down. Even those who work a full week manage less hours than a librarian – and never see emergencies. Many GPs stay at home and still refuse to see patients face to face. The evidence proves this is dangerous but it is, say doctors, the future. GPs claim they are overworked but the evidence proves the contrary.
Physiotherapy departments which shut in March 2020 are still shut. Physiotherapists work from home though no one explains how they manage this.
While patients are ignored, the NHS spends a fortune on hiring ‘equality, diversity and inclusion’ administrators – though no one knows what these people are supposed to do or why they are considered necessary. Hospitals pay huge salaries to employees with jobs as bizarre as ‘Hard FM Commissioning Manager’ and ‘Portfolio Lead for People-Led Care’ – though no one seems to know what these titles mean. There’s a shortage of nurses and beds but ‘Equality chiefs’ are paid £90,387 a year and there are ‘diversity managers’ galore.
People who collapse at home or in the street are routinely tested for covid – even though the test that is used has been proved to be entirely useless. If they test positive they are put on a covid ward and forgotten. They receive no other tests and no treatment. This isn’t medicine – it is cultism.
Patients who complain are simply drugged and sent to sleep. There appears to be war on the elderly – with hospitals slapping Do Not Resuscitate notices on just about everyone over 60 (and a good many younger than that).

Vernon Coleman: Possible Causes of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome – too many marmalade sandwiches

Doctors around the world are puzzled at the epidemic of sudden deaths occurring among previously healthy young adults. Many are said to be conducting investigations to help them decide what could possibly be the cause.
In order to help them I have compiled a list of all the known possible explanations for Sudden Adult Death Syndrome:
Eating too many marmalade sandwiches.
Stepping on cracks between paving slabs.
Not stepping on cracks between paving slabs.
Putting too much tomato sauce/ketchup on meals.
Not saying your prayers.
Allowing yourself to be injected with an experimental, inadequately tested, pseudo-vaccine which, I reported using the FDA’s Draft Working List (details of which are on both my websites in the article called, ‘How Many are the Vaccines Killing?’) on the 8th December 2020, was known to cause myocarditis, encephalitis, convulsions, strokes, Guillain-Barre syndrome, meningitis, pericarditis, bleeding, clots, joint pain and many other disorders and which I also reported did not stop people getting covid-19 and did not stop them spreading it if they did get it.
I do hope this list is helpful to all those puzzled doctors. I can offer them one more piece of advice: Sudden Adult Death Syndrome is caused by ONE of the above. Maybe if a good many really clever, well-paid doctors sit down in a big room in a large, expensive hotel somewhere exotic they may be able to work out which one it is.

Dr Vernon Coleman: ‘There is much more surreal ‘Covid’ bollocks to come’

There are some who believe that the threat from Covid is over. Time to relax. Wait, perhaps, for the other shoe to drop.

But that sort of complacency is dangerous, and Dr Vernon Coleman explains why in the video below –

They don’t want you to own a home – Dr Vernon Coleman

In the world of the Great Reset, ordinary people will not be allowed to own their own homes. The widely promoted principle ‘you will own nothing and you will be happy’ will apply to buying and owning any sort of property as much as it will apply to anything else.
Prices of homes all around the world have been pushed very high as big investment companies have moved in and bought thousands of homes at a time – helping to push up prices and force out private buyers. At the same time, the quality of housing has fallen dramatically. Builders who obey EU laws about house construction invariably produce shoddy, poorly built properties which are not designed to last.
It is worth noting that houses in Japan are built to last 30 years. After that they either fall down or they are knocked down and replaced.
The process of destroying the long established principle of home ownership is already well under way. Interest rates are rising (and likely to continue to rise for years, as central banks appear to struggle to control the runaway inflation they created). Rising interest rates will make it more difficult for new buyers to get their feet onto the bottom of the property ladder and they will make it increasingly difficult for those who own homes to hang onto them. Constantly rising energy prices will add to the expense of owning a home – particularly if the home is old and poorly insulated. Banning Russians from property ownership will also reduce prices.
Worse still, the Government in the UK is forcing 15 million house owners to make such massive and ruinously expensive changes to their homes that the only practical solution will be to knock down perfectly good, solid homes.
The energy performance certificates which must now be linked to every home are to be revised in 2025 to include a variety of untested, unpopular, expensive inefficient eco-inventions which are popular with the conspirators (and the global warming cultists who represent their views in the media and the political market place).

GPs Kill Retail but Hospitals Kill Wholesale – Dr Vernon Coleman

Hospitals are terrible places. People die in them. You should go into hospital only as a last resort. And you should escape the minute you can. As a doctor I am ashamed, saddened and embarrassed to have to tell you this but hospital patients are routinely neglected, humiliated and left in pain. Thousands of patients have died as a result of poor treatment. One independent enquiry documented cases where patients had been left unwashed for up to a month and left without food, drink and medical treatment. The conclusion was that managers had been ‘preoccupied with cost-cutting, targets and processes’ and had lost sight of their basic responsibilities. Astonishingly, none of the responsible managers responsible was taken to court. Nor were any of the doctors and nurses punished.
I have little doubt that in all the hospitals where patients have been dying unnecessarily the staff (including doctors and nurses) managed to convince themselves that they were providing patients with excellent service.
And, equally, I have no doubt that an enormous number of patients and relatives and hospital visitors must have ignored all these awful things and believed that the hospitals concerned were doing a wonderful job.
It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest to hear that the managers responsible for all this pain, agony and death, have thick files of letters from patients and relatives thanking them for the excellent care.
The truth is that neither patients nor relatives know precisely what to expect from hospitals.
Walk into an NHS hospital and you will find demented patients in awful pain. You will find patients with terrible bedsores (the bedsore is a classic sign of bad nursing). You will find patients who are starving to death or dying of dehydration because the staff can’t be bothered to feed them or give them fluids. You will see patients so dehydrated that their lips are bleeding and sore and, when gently pinched, their dried out skin stays where you’ve put it. You will see patients dumped in a chair, sitting in urine soaked incontinence pads which have clearly not been changed for hours. You will see obvious signs of malnutrition. These aren’t patients in Third World countries. They aren’t patients in badly run care homes. They are patients in major NHS hospitals. I know it is true because I have seen it time and time again with my eyes.

Your Government is Your Enemy

Before he was demonised and lied about for telling the truth about covid-19, The Guardian said of Vernon Coleman: ‘His trademark is that he doesn’t mince words’ and The Sun described him as ‘Britain’s leading health care campaigner’.
Here are some facts which prove that your government is your enemy:
[ol]
[li]In future in the UK folic acid will be added to bread. The aim is to stop children being born with birth defects. Traditionally this relatively small problem (in numbers) has been avoided by prescribing folic acid supplements for pregnant women. But one or two women didn’t or wouldn’t take their folic acid. So everyone in Britain who eats bread will be dosed with folic acid they didn’t ask for and probably don’t need. There are, of course, potential side effects with any drug. The side effects with folic acid include fever, weakness, shortness of breath, skin rash, gastro-intestinal disturbances, impaired judgement, depression, confusion, difficulty in concentrating and increased risk of fits in some epileptic patients. And, of course, folic acid can cause allergy problems. If you eat bread you’ll be taking a folic acid supplement. What will they add next?[/li]
[li]James Cleverly, who was apparently Foreign Secretary when I wrote this but has probably been replaced by a wardrobe by now, said football fans going to Quatar should ‘be respectful of the host nation’ where same sex activity is illegal. Cleverly said: ‘These are Muslim countries, they have a very different cultural starting point for us. I think it’s important when you’re a visitor to a country that you respect the culture of your host nation.’ Excellent point: all those visiting or living in a country should respect the culture of the host nation.[/li]
[li]Pubs, shops, restaurants, post offices and pharmacies are now closing for two days a week because they cannot afford to stay open. Trains and buses are cutting services. Restaurants are shut for days at a time. Schools are planning to close for one or two days a week or to work shorter days. Out of control inflation, strikes, shortages of staff, excessive red tape and bureaucracy and soaring wages are all responsible. Councils have put up car park charges so much that shoppers park for as little time as they need to do their essential shopping. They no longer browse or go for coffee and a bun. (Even if they can afford the coffee and the bun.) Nearly half of all hospitality businesses have cut their opening hours – admitting that it’s either that or permanent closure.[/li]
[li]One fifth of the British workforce has decided not to work again. They enjoyed the furlough years so much that they have decided to live on the State (their money being provided by the increasing small number of people actually working for a living and paying tax). Add to this figure those who want jobs but can’t get them, and the students paying for entirely useless courses and the result is that well over a quarter of the population that could and should be working is unemployed. No country can survive with over 25% unemployment.[/li]
[li]Tory MPs deliberately trashed their own party by appointing the man who is surely the most unelectable politician in Britain as Prime Minister. If Sunak remains in No 10 until the next election, the Tories will be lucky to win a seat and Britain will have a coalition government consisting of Labour, Liberals, Scottish Nationalists and the Greens. All of whom will embrace net zero with zeal. And that will be that. Hold both hands high in surrender posture if you’d like to live in a country with Nicola Sturgeon as Chancellor, Deputy Prime Minister or Foreign Secretary – or all three. It is, by the way, no coincidence that every leader in the world is now hated. They want us to hate our national governments so they can set the world up for a global government run by climate change cultists. We are heading rapidly towards global slavery. Your children and your grandchildren will be slaves – owned and controlled just as much as slaves working in the cotton fields. And that is not an exaggeration.[/li]
[li]Many people, including doctors, believe that there were more deaths in 2020 than ever before. This myth has been deliberately sustained by the government, their advisors and the media. Doctors who believe this (let alone say it loud) need to go back to primary school to learn how to count. The truth, as I’ve been saying for a year, is that there were no more deaths in 2020 than most other years. Figures from the Office of National Statistics show that the number of deaths in 2020 was lower than the average for the last 30 years. In 2020 the age standardised mortality rate per 100,000 people in England and Wales was 1,043. But the average age standardised mortality rate for the last 30 years was 1,161 per 100,000. So there were fewer than average deaths in 2020.Some pandemic, eh? I warned in 2020 that there would be a massive rise in the number of deaths in 2022 and there will be. They will lie and claim the deaths were caused by covid-19 and the failure of people to get jabbed. They are so, so predictable.[/li]
[li]The climate change hoax that was planned back in the 1960s is the really big threat we are facing. Covid-19 was the warm up act for the big one – the global warming fraud. That was always going to be the excuse for tough new legislation, economic destruction, more genocide, the end of medical care, social credit and the introduction of the digital passports. Now, it’s all coming very, very fast. And the predictable clamp downs are coming quickly too. The economy is going to be further destroyed. And truth-tellers are going to be further suppressed by the conspirators. The conspirators at the BBC, who regards global warming as scientific fact, report that a small army of volunteers is keeping truth-telling `deniers’ off Wikipedia (in my view already the most dangerous, dishonest and corrupt website in history). So much for freedom of speech and debate – yet again. These people are suppressing honestly held views because they disagree with them, and the BBC treats them as dedicated heroes.[/li]
[li]Those of us daring to tell the truth about the jabs are now being targeted by counter terrorism officers on the grounds that we are undermining national health security. (Exactly the same thing happened with anti-vivisection campaigns over 30 years ago. My phones were tapped and I couldn’t go out of doors without being followed by a bloke from special branch with a video camera. People scoff and no one believes it until it happens to them.)[/li]
[li]It is now becoming clear how covid-19 – the rebranded flu – is being used to promote new legislation being pushed through to build a communist state on the back of a disease. In the UK, the ‘Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill’ ends our right to protest peacefully and leads us further into a police state. The Human Rights Act Reform Bill, is officially called a Modern Bill of Rights. They’re pushing it as a bill for freedom but that’s like claiming the BBC provides balanced, fair-minded news programmes. The UK Government says that freedom of expression cannot be an absolute right when balanced against the need to protect national security. That’s their excuse for lying, for demonising the truth tellers and for suppressing facts and truths. The Emergency Bill was introduced in March 2020, immediately after the UK Government was officially told that covid-19 was no more deadly than the flu. It still stands in the background and gives the Government extraordinary powers. It enables them to do pretty much whatever they like. Parliament keeps voting it through. And then there is NHSX – a special little organisation which is linking the NHS and NHS Digital. The plan is to introduce technical architecture (as they call it) to link the whole of the NHS – across health and caring. There will be apps taking the vax passports directly into digital passports. Privacy will be a thing of the past. Once again this is being done very quietly by unelected bureaucrats. In the new NHS the medical establishment wants a reduction in the number of cancer screening tests being done and the number of people being treated. Cutting down patients being diagnosed and treated will, they say, help stop global warming. And there is the digital identity document validation technology (IDVT) introduced to `help’ employers and landlords check up on us all. Big Brother is here. Similar legislation is being introduced all around the world. They are pushing through legislation on the backs of the rebranded flu – legislation designed to remove cash, introduce digital passports and take total control of every aspect of our lives.[/li]
[li]Governments allow and encourage private companies to suppress the truth. An America radio show host who interviewed me once has been told by Spotify that because he interviewed me they will no longer pay his station for adverts. And yet everything I said on his programme was true.[/li]
[li]Governments are deliberately wrecking the global economy. They started in 2020 and they’ve been accelerating the destruction ever since. The undeclared war against Russia was part of that plan. If Britain withdrew the self-harming sanctions against Russia and stopped spending money on bombs and bullets (a rise of over £25 billion was declared recently) there would be no energy crisis and no financial crisis. Just remember that.[/li]
[li]Interest rates charged by banks will rise high enough to hurt those with mortgages. But interest rates paid by banks to savers will not rise much if at all. The conspirators (acting through governments and banks) want to hurt everyone: those with mortgages and those with savings. Incidentally, the mainstream media hasn’t bothered to mention this but the cap on bankers’ bonuses hasn’t been put back. It is the pretty well the only part of Kwarteng’s ill-fated budget that remains. By an amazing coincidence, Sunak is an ex-employee of Goldman-Sachs bank.[/li]

Vernon Coleman’s book A Bigger Problem than Climate Change deals with the biggest problem facing the world – the end of the wealth provided by fossil fuels. It is available on Amazon as a paperback and an eBook. A Bigger Problem than Climate Change, now republished, was first published in 2006 but is now more relevant than ever.

AIDS – The True Story

By Rhoda Wilson

It is now clear that AIDS was the first attempt to convince the world that everyone was threatened by a new pandemic. It was a trial run for covid-19 – the rebranded flu.
(For the record I don’t believe that covid-19 was man-made. It is simply the ordinary flu with a marketing budget. But, as I have explained elsewhere, it suits the conspirators to encourage the myth that it came from a lab in China.)
At the time, I was allowed to write articles and make MSM broadcasts questioning the size of the threat. It was only afterwards that the suppression started. The potential impact of AIDS was wildly exaggerated by the mainstream media and by bodies such as the BMA and the RCN.
Today, the AIDS myth is kept going by describing patients in Africa who have tuberculosis as suffering from AIDS (check it out if you don’t believe me). Today, the conspirators and the CIA have weaponised my opposition to the lies about AIDS. But how many people do you know with AIDS?
This essay is taken from Vernon Coleman’s Betrayal of Trust which was first published in 1994.   A new paperback of the original edition of Betrayal of Trust is available from the bookshops on www.vernoncoleman.org and www.vernoncoleman.com

From the way that journalists and politicians have dealt with the AIDS story you might imagine that the virus causing this disease was a complete mystery; that it had arrived from nowhere and that doctors and scientists were now struggling, shoulder to shoulder, to find a cure. That isn’t quite true. AIDS, like so many other modern diseases, was created by man. And to medical researchers AIDS has been more of a financial bonanza than a deadly target to be eliminated…

Scarcely Believable but Achingly True

20TH APRIL 2023

  1. In 2019 the Rand Corporation (an American research organisation which advises the US Government and the US Military) advised the US Government on how to entice Russia into attacking Ukraine.

  2. There is a massive failure of comprehension about the extent of what is happening and how fast it is all happening. There are still people around who regard it as a coincidence that so many bad things are happening all at once. The truth is that everything that seems to be chaotic is choreographed. There are no accidents and no coincidences. There is a reason – one reason – for everything that is happening.

  3. The US is trying to get countries onside by threatening them with violence. Russia and China are trying to get countries onside by offering them deals and friendship. Sadly, the US no longer has the power or wealth to wield a big stick and the carrots on offer are far more effective.

  4. Any extension of World War III will begin with a military exercise. And major military exercises are now occurring daily.

  5. Why is the US determined to defend Taiwan? What would the Americans think if China claimed that Long Island should be independent? What would the British think if China wanted to adopt the Isle of Wight as a protectorate? How many people want to die to protect Taiwan? (Probably the same as the number of people prepared to give their lives to protect Ukraine.)

  6. The world is already in a global recession but governments have changed the definition of ‘recession’ and ‘inflation’ and are fiddling the figures.

  7. The mainstream media hasn’t bothered to report that the war between Saudi Arabia and Yemen (much bigger and nastier than Ukraine) seems to be approaching an end.

  8. The conspirators have always known that AI will lead to at least a billion people being forced into unemployment. There is absolutely no future for administrators, IT specialists or bureaucrats – they will be unemployed within three years at most. Teachers, doctors and nurses will be unemployed (and unemployable) within five years – so will the police. Those who lose their jobs will almost certainly never work again. They will have to survive on the universal basic income.

  9. Sunak is a warmonger. Biden would be a warmonger if he knew what it meant.

  10. The conspirators have speeded things up so that they can move us deeper into the Great Reset before too many people wake up.

  11. The world has split in two and those of us in the West are, I’m afraid, in the rancid half. I find it scary to look around and to realise that the countries my government wants me to hate and to fight appear to be more open, honest and decent than my own country.

  12. The BRICS countries now have a combined larger GDP than the G7 countries. If you live in the US, the EU, the UK or Australasia then you are living in the new Third World.

The Whooping Cough Vaccine

The following paper is taken from The Health Scandal by Vernon Coleman, published in 1988 by Sidgwick and Jackson and in 1989 by Mandarin Paperbacks. A new version of The Health Scandal is now available via the shop on this website.
The story of the whooping-cough vaccine provides us with another example of dishonesty and deceit in medicine.
There has been controversy about the whooping-cough vaccine for many years and the Department of Health and Social Security has consistently managed to convince the majority of medical staff to support the official line that the vaccine is both safe and effective. Once again the official DHSS line pays little attention to the facts. Put bluntly, the DHSS (on behalf of successive governments) has consistently lied about the risks and problems associated with the whooping-cough vaccine.
I’ll explain exactly why I think that governments have lied (and this is not intended as a slight on any one political party – as far as I’m aware all political parties have followed exactly the same line on this matter) a little later. For the time being I’d like to concentrate solely on the facts.
The first point that should be made is that although official spokesmen claim otherwise, the whooping-cough vaccine has never had much of an influence on the number of children dying from whooping cough. The dramatic fall in the number of deaths caused by the disease came well before the vaccine was widely available and was, historians agree, the result of improved public health measures and, indirectly, the use of antibiotics.
It was in 1957 that the whooping-cough vaccine was first introduced nationally in Britain – although the vaccine was tried out in the late 1940s and early 1950s. But the incidence of whooping cough_, and the number of children dying from the disease, had both fallen very considerably well before 1957. So, for example, while doctors reported 170,000 cases of whooping cough in 1950 they reported only about 80,000 cases in 1955. The introduction of the vaccine really didn’t make very much, if any, difference to the fall in the incidence of the disease. Even today, thirty years after the introduction of the vaccine, whooping-cough cases are still running at about 1,000 a week in Britain.
Similarly, the figures show that the introduction of the vaccine had no effect on the number of children dying from whooping cough. The mortality rate associated with the disease had been falling appreciably since the early part of the twentieth century and rapidly since the 1930s and 1940s – showing a particularly steep decline after the introduction of the sulphonamide drugs. Whooping cough is undoubtedly an extremely unpleasant disease but it has not been a major killer for many years. The DHSS has frequently forecast fresh whooping-cough epidemics but none of the forecast epidemics has produced the devastation predicted. My second point is that the whooping-cough vaccine is neither very efficient nor is it safe. The efficiency of the vaccine is of subsidiary interest – although thousands of children who have been vaccinated do still get the disease – the greatest controversy surrounds the safety of the vaccine. The DHSS has always claimed that serious adverse reactions to the whooping-cough vaccine are extremely rare and the official suggestion is that the risk of a child being brain damaged by the vaccine is no higher than one in 100,000. Now leaving aside the fact that I find a risk of one in 100,000 unacceptable, it is interesting to examine this figure a little more closely, for after a little research work it becomes clear that the figure of one in 100,000 is a guess.
Over the last decade or two, numerous researchers have studied the risks of brain damage following whooping-cough vaccination and their results make fascinating reading. Between 1960 and 1981, for example, nine reports were published showing that the risk of brain damage varied between one in 6,000 and one in 100,000. The average was a risk of one in 50,000. It is clear from these figures that the DHSS has simply chosen the figure which showed the whooping cough vaccine to be least risky. Moreover, the one in 100,000 figure did not come from any rock solid research. It was itself an estimate – a guess.
These are just a couple of the important facts about the whoopingcough vaccine that have been ignored or overlooked or disguised by the DHSS. But they are not the only facts that have been distorted.
Although the DHSS consistently claims that whooping cough is a dangerous disease, the figures show that it is not the indiscriminate killer it is made out to be. Whooping cough causes around four deaths a year in Britain. Compare that to approximately 300 deaths caused by tuberculosis and 100 deaths caused by meningitis. Most of the victims of whooping cough are babies under three months old. That fact is particularly important because the vaccine is never given to babies under three months old.
The truth about the whooping-cough vaccine is that it has always been a disaster. The vaccine has already been withdrawn in other countries because of the amount of brain damage associated with its use. In Japan, Sweden and West Germany the vaccine has been omitted from regular vaccination schedules. In America two out of three whooping-cough vaccine manufacturers have stopped making the vaccine because of the cost of lawsuits. On 6 December 1985 the Journal of the American Medical Association published a major report showing that the whooping-cough vaccine is, without doubt, linked to the development of serious brain damage. And even here in Britain the DHSS has been so worried about the vaccine that for ten years it has been paying research workers at Porton Down to search for ways to make a new, safer, more effective whooping-cough vaccine. At long last, after a £5 million research programme, a new vaccine is indeed being tested on children.
The final nail in the coffin lid is the fact that the British Government has already paid out compensation to the parents of some 800 children who have been brain damaged by the whooping-cough vaccine. Some parents who accepted damages a few years ago were given £10,000. More recently parents have been getting £20,000.
It is a startling fact that for many years now the whooping-cough vaccine has been killing or severely injuring more children than the disease itself. Since 1979 around 800 children (or their parents) have received money from the Government for vaccine-produced brain damage. In the same period less than 100 children have been killed by whooping cough. I think that makes the vaccine more dangerous than the disease. And that, surely, is quite unacceptable. So, why has the DHSS continued to encourage doctors to use the vaccine?
There are two possible explanations. The first explanation is the more generous of the two and concerns the Government’s responsibility for the health of the community as a whole. The theory here is that by encouraging millions of parents to have their children vaccinated the Government can reduce the incidence of the disease in the community. In the long run this reduces the risk of there being any future epidemics of whooping cough. In other words the Government risks the lives of individual children for the good of the next generation.
The second, less charitable explanation is that the DHSS is looking after its own interests by continuing to claim that the whooping-cough vaccine is safe enough to use. In 1987 there were 258 sets of parents preparing to sue the DHSS for damages. They claim that the whooping-cough vaccine damaged their children. They are claiming something in the region of £250,000 each. If the DHSS withdrew the whooping-cough vaccine, it would be admitting that the vaccine was dangerous. And it would obviously lose its court cases. Such an admission would, therefore, cost it 258 times £250,000.
And that would be just the beginning for there are, you will remember, 800 sets of parents who have already received payments from the Government of either £10,000 or £20,000. If the DHSS admitted liability (and those payments did not include an admission of liability), then it is fair to assume that the DHSS would find itself with several hundred more lawsuits – and a damages bill running into billions of pounds.
Whatever explanation you consider most accurate the unavoidable fact is that the Government (in the form of the DHSS) has consistently lied about the whooping-cough vaccine, has distorted the truth and has deceived both the medical profession (for the majority of doctors and nurses who give these injections accept the recommendations made by the DHSS without question) and millions of parents.
The DHSS may have saved itself a tidy sum in damages. But the cost to the nation’s health has been enormous. And this, remember, is merely one more example of the way in which the truth has been distorted by those whom we trust to provide us with honest, accurate advice about medicine and health care.
