Journalist names obstacle to peace between Ukraine and Russia – fake ‘hero’ Zelensky

The Ukrainian leader is “dangerous” as he’s ready to sacrifice his people to stay in power, Angelo D’Orsi claims.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is the main obstacle to peace between his country and Russia, renowned Italian journalist and historian Angelo D’Orsi has told RT.
D’Orsi has been left disappointed by the coverage of the Ukrainian conflict in the Western media, including in his home country of Italy.
In March, he refused to continue cooperating with major newspaper La Stampa after it used a photo of the aftermath of a missile attack on Donetsk by the Kiev forces to illustrate a headlining article bout about Russian strikes in western Ukraine. The paper has reached “the bottom of journalistic dishonesty” with this move, D’Orsi insisted in one of the interviews.
The veteran journalist rejects attempts to portray Zelensky as a hero, warning that the Ukrainian leader is actually “a very dangerous character.”
“In my opinion, Zelensky now represents the biggest obstacle to achieving peace because it seems obvious to me that he’s is ready to sacrifice his country and his people in order to stay in power,” D’Orsi said.
The Ukrainian president is “absolutely preventing any diplomatic solution, any peace talks. And he’s proven it many times,” he added.
Russian and Ukrainian delegations of various levels have held several rounds of peace negotiations since the outbreak of the fighting. But there have been no face-to-face meetings since late March, when the sides met in Istanbul, Turkey, although Russia says the talks continue every day via videolink.

959 Ukrainian soldiers surrendered at Azovstal since Monday: Russia -
Russia’s defence ministry said Wednesday that 959 Ukrainian soldiers had surrendered this week at the besieged Azovstal steel plant in Ukraine’s port city of Mariupol.

“Over the past 24 hours, 694 militants surrendered, including 29 wounded,” the ministry said in its daily briefing on the conflict. “In total since May 16, 959 militants surrendered, including 80 wounded.”

It said those requiring medical treatment were taken to a hospital in the town of Novoazovsk in Russian-controlled territory.

Kyiv is hoping to exchange the surrendered Ukrainian fighters, but Russia has yet to confirm whether they will be part of a prisoner swap.

Last month, Moscow claimed control of Mariupol after a weeks-long siege, but hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers remained holed up in underground tunnels beneath the huge Azovstal industrial zone, blocked by Russian troops.
Kyiv’s defence ministry has said it would do “everything necessary” to rescue the undisclosed number of personnel that remain in the steelworks, but admitted there was no military option available.

Ukraine's military nuclear program

According to Laurence Norman, journalist for the Wall Street Journal, International Atomic Energy Agency Director Rafael Grossi told the Davos Forum that 30 tons of plutonium and 40 tons of enriched uranium are stockpiled at the Ukrainian power plant in Zaporijjia.
The enrichment rate of the uranium is not specified. Uranium enriched to 5% can only be used for civil purposes;
weapons manufacturing requires a threshold of 80%.

On 19 February 2022, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking at the Munich Security Conference, announced to NATO officials that his country was considering calling into question the Budapest Memorandum (1994) so that it could acquire nuclear weapons against Russia.

On 21 February 2022, President Vladimir Putin alluded to a Ukrainian nuclear program, saying: “The only thing missing [in Ukraine] is a uranium enrichment system. But this is a technical question, and for Ukraine not an insurmountable problem.”

On 24 February 2022, Russia attacked Ukraine, noting that she was acting within the framework of international law.

Russian Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response continue to record the continuing egregious facts of the inhumane treatment of civilians by the authorities in Kiev, and use of social infrastructure for military purposes by Ukrainian armed formations:


* in Kharkov, Ukrainian Armed Forces and territorial defence units have equipped ammunition depots, artillery and MLRS on the premises of school No 81 on Krasnaya Alleya Street and the House of Culture on Plekhanovskaya Street, while local residents are being held in basements under the pretext of ensuring their safety. 

* At the same time, the approaches to these buildings are booby-trapped, but the local population is deliberately not informed about this;

* in Borovskoe, Lugansk People's Republic, Right Sector militants have equipped firing positions and sniper points in residential buildings. 

* Local residents are forbidden to leave their flats, and all attempts by citizens to evacuate to safe areas are severely curtailed;

* in Kramatorsk, Donetsk People's Republic, neo-Nazis and foreign mercenaries have placed heavy weapons on the premises of a boarding school on Vasiliya Stusa Street and equipped a stronghold and an ammunition depot in the building;

* in Avdeevka, Donetsk People's Republic, AFU personnel are stationed on the ground floors of residential buildings, in school No 2 and the buildings of the TB dispensary, while civilians are forcibly detained in the basements.

 Central MD servicemen deliver humanitarian aid to residents of liberated settlement in Lugansk People's Republic

▫️The settlement is currently inhabited by 15 families. The rest of the houses have been robbed and burnt by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 

▫️Locals complain that Ukrainian servicemen have taken away all vehicles: cars, motorbikes and bicycles.

▫️People have been starving for a whole week because the shops are closed.

▫️Russian servicemen have delivered grocery kits, hygienic items and medical supplies.
