Can anyone explain to me, fairly simply, if possible, what RNA is, and why this is being used in the PCR test to identity a positive covid-19 case.

Also how does amplification work when used to look for RNA from the PCR test swab.  Is this simply using a microscope to enlarge the view of the sample ?
And is the amplification amount, the same as the “cycle threshold”, or is this something different ?

The PCR swabs which are taken need to be examined but before they can be examined they have to be amplified – so that the virus particles can be seen.

And this is where the dishonesty comes in.

There are two problems.

First, the PCR test is not specific for covid-19 since it merely detects RNA which can come from all sorts of sources.

Second, in order to examine the RNA, the swab needs to be amplified by 25 to 30 times.

If you amplify too much then the result is unreliable and unscientific because it picks up bits of debris left over from a cold or flu in the past. Even the WHO says that the amplification should not be done more than 30 times.

But governments everywhere are amplifying PCR swabs by up to 40 times – meaning that the results are utterly worthless because they are picking up old bits of virus. Anyone who has, or has had, any sort of cold or flu bug in the last year or two is being counted as a positive PCR test.

And that’s what is happening in the UK. The NHS Guidance uses a PCR cycle threshold of 40.

And that’s why so many people seem to have covid-19.

The so-called pandemic of covid-19 is a complete lie.

Matt Hancock faced a furious backlash today after ‘bonkers’ plans surfaced to give everyone testing positive for Covid £500.
The proposal, which would cost up to £450million a week, is aimed at encouraging more people to undergo swabs and self-isolate to stop the virus spreading.
Detailed in an official policy paper, it is said to be the ‘preferred position’ of Mr Hancock‘s Department of Health.
Officials fear that too many with Covid symptoms fail to take a test in case knowing a positive result stops them working.
However, it appears to have blindsided Downing Street, with sources making clear No10 was had not seen the blueprint before it was leaked and warning it would create ‘perverse incentives’.
Treasury officials said it was ‘not going to happen’ and and swiped that they had ‘zero idea’ how Mr Hancock allowed it to get traction. ‘Just bonkers. The whole country will suddenly develop a dry cough,’ one said.
Financial help for those who test positive – the Test and Trace Support Payment – is limited to low earners who cannot work from home and already receive benefits.
The £500 payment for English residents would apply irrespective of age, employment status or ability to work from home.
A Department of Health spokesman did not deny the proposal was being discussed and said: ‘We are in one of the toughest moments of this pandemic and it is incumbent on all of us to help protect the NHS by staying at home and following the rules.’

It has been one of the most enduring Covid conspiracy theories: that the ‘gold standard’ PCR tests used to diagnose the virus were picking up people who weren’t actually infected.
Some even suggested the swabs, which have been carried out more than 200 million times in the UK alone, may mistake common colds and flu for corona.
If either, or both, were true, it would mean many of these cases should never have been counted in the daily tally – that the ominous and all-too-familiar figure, which was used to inform decisions on lockdowns and other pandemic measures, was an over-count.
And many of those who were ‘pinged’ and forced to isolate as a contact of someone who tested positive – causing a huge strain on the economy – did so unnecessarily.
Such statements, it must be said, have been roundly dismissed by top experts. And those scientists willing to give credence such concerns have been shouted down on social media, accused of being ‘Covid-deniers’, and even sidelined by colleagues.
But could they have been right all along?
