Moronic Script-Reader Mark Drakeford Tells the Welsh Hospitality Industry to Prepare for Vaccine Passports

Welsh First Minister Mark Drakeford has declared that vaccine passports may be imposed on the hospitality industry, along with the return of work from home mandates, to tackle an increase in the number of Covid hospital admissions. The Welsh Government also wishes to introduce vaccine passports to cinemas, theatres, and concert halls from November 15th. The MailOnline has the story.
Speaking on Sky News, Drakeford said: “We have to make a concerted effort over the next three weeks to bring those numbers down.”
It comes as Wales is set to tighten Covid restrictions to tackle a rising number of hospital admissions, with more than 680 people in Welsh hospitals with Covid on October 27th.
Positive case numbers have also been at their highest recorded total since the pandemic began this month, although numbers have dipped in recent days to fewer than 2,600.
Official data showed England recorded 33,903 new infections, 2,153 cases were confirmed in Scotland, while 2,664 were spotted in Wales and 1,122 in Northern Ireland. Cases appear to be trending downwards in all four nations.
And the number of people going to hospital who were infected with Covid seems to be plateauing. Some 962 sought NHS care on Sunday — the most recent day the data is available for — a rise of 0.3% on the 959 patients admitted last week.

Covid’: Swansea cinema refuses to ask customers for pass

A cinema manager has refused to obey the Covid pass law, claiming it is an “infringement of our human rights”.
Since Monday, people must show an NHS Covid pass in Wales to legally enter cinemas, theatres and concert halls.
But Cinema & Co in Swansea will not be implementing the scheme, branding it “nonsensical” and “unnecessary”.
The Welsh government said the law was to “keep us all safe”, adding that it was down to local authorities to enforce the rules.
It comes as case rates in Wales continue to rise, up to 488.93 per 100,000 people on 11 November from a low point of 475.9 on 7 November.
The scheme, which applies to anyone over the age of 18, has been in place since 11 October for nightclubs and large-scale events.
But anyone wanting to go to the theatre, concert halls and cinemas must now also show the pass to prove they are either fully vaccinated or have had a negative lateral flow test result within the past 48 hours.
Anna Redfern, who manages the independent 56-seat cinema, said the “unlawful” law was “a total infringement of our human rights”.
“I know a lot of businesses who are complying with this out of fear, I’m hoping by making a stand in this way it will give others courage to follow suit,” she added.
Ms Redfern, who used to be a children’s rights worker, said she was “very aware of our rights” and wanted “everyone to be welcome” at the cinema.

No10’s scientists have called for the introduction of vaccine passports and work-from-home guidance to counter the spread of the super-mutant Omicron Covid variant, advice published today shows.
Documents released by the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) and subgroup Nervtag warned the highly evolved strain could cause a surge in cases ‘similar or even larger’ than previous waves.
The expert panel admitted that the jury is still out on whether the variant will cause more or less severe illness, with conflicting reports coming out of the epicentre in South Africa, where doctors insist most cases are mild but hospital admissions seem to be rising.
In the minutes from SAGE’s 97th meeting on Covid on Monday, the group said the emergence of Omicron meant vaccine passports and reducing social contacts through working from home were ‘highly relevant’.
The meeting, chaired by England’s Chief Medical Officer Professor Chris Whitty and Chief Science Officer Sir Patrick Vallance, concluded that the strain’s infectiousness was undisputed but evidence of its effect on vaccines is still murky.
In a separate meeting of SAGE’s modelling subgroup Spi-M, scientists also warned that coronavirus would likely put pressure on the NHS for a further five years at least before becoming endemic — weakened to the point of a common cold thanks to jabs and natural immunity.
They said continued monitoring and ‘active’ measures would be required until 2026, although they did not stipulate what these may involve.

Italy Tightens Restrictions on the Un-fake-vaccinated with ‘Super Green Pass’

From today, all Italians will need to abide by the country’s ‘super green pass’ law, which means that only those who are double jabbed or have recently recovered from Covid are allowed to enter a wide variety of public places, such as restaurants and theatres. Unlike the old ‘green pass’ system, the ‘super green pass’ does not allow for the unvaccinated to provide proof of a negative Covid test, further hindering their right to participate in public life. Italy has brought in tougher restrictions for unvaccinated people as the holidays draw near, excluding them from indoor restaurants, theatres and museums to reduce the spread of Covid and encourage the unvaccinated to get their jabs.
Only those who have the ‘super green pass’, which requires Italians to be double jabbed rather than providing a negative Covid test result, will be able to fully participate in public life from Monday.
Italian police will be checking will be checking whether those visiting indoor restaurants, bars, concerts, sports events, theatres and public events, have the ‘super’ green health pass until January 15th.
The restrictions follow a steady rise of Covid cases in Italy for the past six weeks, with 15,021 infections recorded on Sunday, and a concern about the new Omicron variant which is believed to be more transmissible than the Delta strain.
Elsewhere in Europe, leaders have rushed in a raft of new lockdown measures and travel bans amid panic over rising cases and the arrival of the Omicron variant.
Germany has announced it will lock down its unvaccinated citizens and ban them from most public spaces in the run-up to Christmas, while those in France will have to show proof of vaccination to maintain a valid Covid pass which allows them into public venues.
Italy’s vaccination rate is higher than many of its neighbours, at 85% of the eligible population aged 12 years-old and older and 77% of the total population. But people in their 30s, 40s and 50s have proved the most reluctant to get vaccinated, with nearly 3.5 million still not having received their first doses.

The prime minister and his cabinet ministers are said to have received a downbeat assessment from England’s chief medical officer, Professor Chris Whitty, and chief scientific adviser, Sir Patrick Vallance, on the current coronavirus situation on Tuesday.
The sources told Sky News the prime minister is worried that, if he doesn’t act now, he could regret not taking tougher action in a month’s time.
Under the government’s Plan B for dealing with winter pressures in the NHS, which it detailed in September, ministers said that contingency measures to deal with COVID-19 would include a strengthening of government messaging, the possible introduction of COVID vaccine passports in some settings, mandatory face mask wearing, and a return to work from home guidance.
Mr Johnson has already reintroduced mandatory face mask wearing on public transport and in shops, as well as other settings in England, since the discovery of the Omicron variant.

An independent cinema in Swansea taken to court over alleged Covid rule breaches has said it has cancelled all its public film bookings for the rest of the year.
Cinema & Co in Castle Street, Swansea has announced the cancellation of its film schedule for the rest of the year due to family reasons, in a statement on its social media on Thursday evening.
It comes just hours after the cinema – which was initially told to shut by Swansea Council and Welsh Government officials on November 19 after it said it would not enforce the Covid pass scheme – received a courts summons over alleged Covid rule breaches.
At the time it was initially told to shut, the cinema said it would “take a stand” against the measures which apply in cinemas, theatres, and concert halls across Wales, calling them “discriminatory and unlawful”.
Owner Anna Redfern was then taken to court on November 30 where Judge Thomas rejected her appealto dismiss her case and ordered the venue to follow Covid-19 regulations, effectively meaning it had to close its doors as per the council’s original order. Ms Redfern was also told to pay the council’s legal costs of £5,265.

Shoppers are required to show their Green Passes in any store larger than 100 square meters beginning Monday, after the Knesset Constitution, Law and Justice Committee approved the government’s plan – but only for the next nine days.

The decision was made as the number of cases in the country continues to climb, especially among children, the prime minister’s daughter tested positive for the virus, and Israel approved a drug that could help stop serious infection.

The Knesset approved the government’s outline for malls and indoor shopping areas.

Specifically, entrance into any store larger than 100 square meters will now require a Green Pass, including for employees of these stores.

In general, malls will operate according to a strict Purple Ribbon outline, which means that occupancy can be one person for every 15 square meters in the larger shopping center. Stores that sell essential items, such as pharmacies and grocery stores, will adhere to this outline and no Green Pass will be required.

Protest grows bigger after Rothschild-owned president vows to ‘piss off’ the un-fake-vaxxed

At least 100,000 people took to the streets of France in protest against Covid-19 restrictions and mandates, after President Macron promised to make the lives of the unvaccinated increasingly hard until they accept the jab.
The huge crowds on Saturday were roughly four times larger than back on December 18, according to police estimates. The protesters opposed, among other things, a nearly implemented government plan to make proof of vaccination against Covid-19 mandatory to use public transport, eat at restaurants, and attend events.
France’s National Assembly passed a bill this week which, if approved by the Senate, would introduce so-called ‘vaccine passes’ to replace the existing ‘health passes’. Under the current rules, a negative PCR or antigen test gives access to a pass that is valid for 24 hours. A vaccine pass, however, would only be issued to those who have been fully vaccinated. People who were infected with Covid-19 would have to receive a booster shot three to four months after contracting the virus in order to get a vaccine pass, Health Minister Olivier Veran said. In the meantime, they could use their recovery certificates.
