Nova Scotia Moves Quickly Using Emergency Declaration to Ban Truck Convoys and Highway Cheering, $10,000 Fine for Cheering on Roadway -

Apparently, the Canadian province of Nova Scotia is taking proactive steps {link} to ensure their government officials are not subjected to any protests similar to what’s happening in Ottawa or other regions.

Using their pre-existing state of emergency, the “Province today, January 28, issued a directive under the Emergency Management Act prohibiting protesters from blockading Highway 104 near the Nova Scotia-New Brunswick border.” [Announcement]

#FreedomConvoy2022: “Step Down Trudeau”

The Freedom Convoy 2022 movement is actively involved in Ottawa, the Nation’s capital. 

Hundreds and hundreds of trucks are lined up in front of Parliament Hill and in the streets of the capital. 

Bridges between Ottawa and Gatineau have been closed to prevent trucks from crossing to the other side of the Ottawa river. 

The truckers are incredibly calm, they are pacifists. They will stay in Ottawa until the “Covid-19 mandates” are cancelled.  The government must agree to put an end to these health measures which in fact are measures of a political nature. 

While the movement is open to discussion with the federal government, Justin Trudeau , Prime Minister of Canada, has categorically refused to enter into any form of dialogue. 

He is leading the country from an unknown location…

Ottawa Police Lying To The Public Department Release: Increased Measures to ‘Protect Downtown Neighbourhoods’. From who? The police?

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service and its partners are implementing a surge and contain strategy in Ottawa’s downtown neighbourhoods to further protect neighbourhoods, restore order and prevent unlawful activity.
In connection with ongoing demonstrations, Ottawa’s downtown residents and businesses continue to be severely impacted by unlawful acts, including harassment, mischief, hate crimes, and noise violations. We know that additional demonstrators are coming, and we are significantly increasing our policing resources to respond.
To prevent and reduce the impacts of demonstrators entering the downtown core, and to improve neighbourhood safety, the Ottawa Police Service is implementing the following measures – effective immediately
Major deployment of police officers in the downtown neighbourhoods: There will be approximately 150 additional uniformed and non-uniformed officers dedicated to only patrolling and addressing unlawful and threatening conduct in the most impacted neighbourhoods including: Centretown, Sandy Hill, Lowertown and the ByWard Market. This includes working with City and NCR officials to prevent unlawful and unsafe use of public space by demonstrators.
Expand and harden perimeter of the demonstration red zone: The Ottawa Police Service and City of Ottawa will be utilizing concrete and heavy equipment barricades to create no-access roadways throughout the downtown core. The City of Ottawa will be releasing a map of impacted roads later today. Protestor vehicles will be directed to designated parking zones outside of the downtown core. Illegal parking by demonstrators will result in by-law enforcement, removal and impound. If necessary, interprovincial bridges, highway off ramps and/or roads will be closed.
Enforcement directives: The surge of police officers will result in enforcement to restore public safety. This includes increased investigation enforcement and charges for all criminal acts related hate, harassment, assaults (including spitting), intimidation, and mischief.

Fascist Ottawa police threaten arrests for sharing fuel with Freedom Convoy

Anyone who attempts to provide “material support” to the Freedom Convoy truckers and other anti-Covid-mandate protesters could be subject to arrest, Ottawa police announced, as Mayor Jim Watson declared a state of emergency in the city.
Police issued the warning on Twitter on Sunday afternoon. Asked whether “material support” included vital necessities like food and water, a police spokesperson told Fox News that the announcement “relates to hazardous materials that represent a public safety or fire hazard.”
Officers on the ground in downtown Ottawa reportedly told the drivers that after midnight on Sunday, no gas and diesel cans or propane tanks would be allowed into the area.

Global Trucker Convoys Protest Mandates -

The Canadian “Freedom Convoy” started pulling into Ottawa January 29, 2022, gathering in front of the Parliament building. They have vowed to stay put until the Canadian government agrees to roll back all federal mandates, including the vaccine mandate and the vaccine passport

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has tried to downplay the protest, referring to it as a “small fringe minority” of people “who hold unacceptable views” and don’t represent the views of Canadians

As the convoy descended on Ottawa, Trudeau moved out of his residence and then claimed to have contracted COVID and that he would remain in isolation for a week

Inspired and encouraged by the Canadian trucker movement, truckers in other countries are now organizing their own Freedom Convoys. In Europe, a European Freedom Convoy will meet up in Brussels, February 14, 2022, and remain there “until vaccination passports and associated restrictions are abolished” across the European Union

Australia also organized a Freedom Convoy to gather outside the Parliament House in Canberra, starting January 31, 2022, and in the U.S., American truckers are planning a DC Freedom Convoy …

Court Freezes $8 Million for Freedom Convoy Raised on GiveSendGo – Desperate people always do stupid things and the authorities in their panic to stop the truckers are simply revealing what fascists they have always been and why the truckers are right to stay firm

The government of the province of Ontario in Canada on Thursday successfully sought a court order to freeze over US$8 million in funds made to the Freedom Convoy on the GiveSendGo platform.
The Ontario Superior Court of Justice ordered that all donations made through the “Freedom Convoy 2022” and “Adopt a trucker” campaigns on the Christian fundraising platform be frozen until further notice, according to a statement from Premier Doug Ford’s office.
The statement said Ontario Attorney General Doug Downey brought the application for the restraint order, in which 490.8 of the Criminal Code was cited as grounds to freeze the funds. The section reads, in part: “The Attorney General may make an application … for a restraint order … in respect of any offence-related property.”
Ivana Yelich, spokesperson for the premier, said the order “binds any and all parties with possession or control over these donations.”
In a statement on Twitter, GiveSendGo wrote in an apparent response to the court order, “Know this! Canada has absolutely ZERO jurisdiction over how we manage our funds here at GiveSendGo.”
It adds, “All funds for EVERY campaign on GiveSendGo flow directly to the recipients of those campaigns, not least of which is The Freedom Convoy campaign.”
John Carpay, president of the legal group Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms, which is providing legal help to the Freedom Convoy organizers, told The Epoch Times that their lawyers are looking into the issue.
The protest started in late January as a demonstration by truckers against the federal government’s requirement for cross-border truck drivers to be vaccinated, but has since evolved into a large movement joined by people from across Canada to oppose different COVID-19 mandates and restrictions.
Vehicle convoys came to Ottawa on Jan. 29, and many have stayed in the city, with trucks and other vehicles parked by Parliament Hill. Since then, various protest convoys have been set up in different parts of Canada.
Protesters in Ottawa say they won’t leave until the government lifts COVID-19 mandates.

‘This is far from over’: Freedom Convoy truckers ‘hold the line’ and continue to block access from Canadian side of Ambassador Bridge after cops cleared them away earlier. Protesters march in Ottawa and NY Gov. prepares for Niagara Falls disruption

Freedom Convoy truckers have returned to the site of the six-day standoff and have continued to ‘hold the line’ on the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor in order to block access on the Canadian side after being cleared away earlier by police following a lengthy demonstration.
Demonstrations across Canadian cities have been implemented in response to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau‘s order for the country’s truckers to be vaccinated or quarantine after returning from the US.
The tense standoff at the Ambassador Bridge linking Detroit and Windsor, Ontario, eased somewhat early in the day when Canadian police persuaded demonstrators to move the trucks they had used to barricade the entrance to the busy international crossing.
Protestors, however, made their return as they were seen blocking the bridge yet again on Saturday night.
Other cities including Ottawa also faced an influx of protestors as around 4,000 had been reported by police.
Officials with the Ottawa police initially communicated to protestors earlier on Saturday to threaten arrests and fines if they did not clear the scene by midnight.
A Canadian judge also previously asked the protestors to move by 7pm but failed to get them out.
In addition, other demonstrators have also blocked borders to the Canadian province of Manitoba at the Emerson Port of Entry, which is shared with North Dakota as well as Coutts Crossing in Alberta, which brings truckers into and out of Montana.
The problems have fed into current issues linked to the supply chain crisis as a shortage in auto parts have caused vehicle companies to temporarily shut down.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul has since announced she is preparing to deal with the disruptions related to the protest.
This comes ahead of a planned protest at the Peace Bridge in Fort Erie, Ontario, that connects the southern region of the province to Buffalo.
