COVID-19 and Project Fear
#61
Hospital Tells Black People and Over-65s Not to Visit Loved Ones “Because of Covid”

An NHS hospital trust has come under fire for giving ICU visitors a form telling them that if they are “black, Asian or minority ethnic” they should not visit because they are deemed to be at higher risk of COVID-19.
The “patient visitation disclaimer” from Wye Valley NHS Trust (depicted below) also tells the over-65s, pregnant women, diabetics and obese people, among a list of 11 categories, that they are “discouraged from visiting” for safety reasons. It informs the visitor he or she has “chosen to visit a loved one in hospital during a global pandemic”, as though that is something blameable for which he or she should feel ashamed.
Visitors are expected to sign this acknowledgement that they are not welcome along with a pledge to follow all directions of hospital staff as regards masks and personal protective equipment “in order ensure [sic] maximum safety to [sic] everyone”.
Visitors further pledge that if they live with black, Asian or minority ethnic individuals, over-65s, pregnant women etc., then following their visit they will “take measure [sic] to minimise the risks” by moving out to “live elsewhere” or otherwise avoid such people, for an unspecified period of time.
While the disclaimer appears to be specifically for visitors to COVID-19 patients, the person who had been given it ahead of visiting a friend and sent it to the Daily Sceptic was visiting someone who did not have COVID-19 and had not tested positive for it, so the trust was evidently giving it to at least some visitors for non-Covid patients.
Will the NHS ever move on from the pandemic or is this to be a permanent state of affairs? Are black people, pregnant women, the over-65s etc., to be “discouraged” from visiting forever, or just for the foreseeable future?

Same old, same old, with yawning predictability: UK could face ‘twindemic’ if winter flu surge combines with new ‘Covid’ wave (Shit, better get the fake vaccine then to save us having to pay you a pension)

A devastating flu season is expected this winter, and it could combine with rising numbers of Covid cases to create a dangerous “twindemic” scenario, experts fear.
There are concerns it could overload the NHS, which is in crisis trying to cope with record backlogs and waiting times.
Figures from the southern hemisphere, which usually foretell what will happen in the UK, indicate a flu surge two months earlier than normal, driven by under-30s.
It suggests a spike in flu hospital admissions in Britain could begin in October, including many children. One estimate is the flu season could be twice as large as normal.
In addition, Covid infections could increase in the coming weeks as respiratory infections rise, the UK Health Security Agency has warned.
Dr Jamie Lopez Bernal, consultant epidemiologist for immunisation and countermeasures at the UKHSA, said: “With respiratory viruses increasing in circulation in the winter months, we can expect to see growing cases of Covid-19 in the coming weeks.

We’re off – Millions urged to get flu and Covid jabs amid fears of winter ‘twindemic’ in UK

Tens of millions of people in the UK are being urged to have flu and Covid vaccines as soon as possible amid fears of a winter “twindemic” that poses a serious risk to public health.
UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) officials are braced for a resurgence in flu infections capable of causing severe disease in the coming months, and are concerned it will coincide with the major wave of coronavirus that is already building.
While Covid restrictions kept influenza at extremely low levels in the past three years, the return to almost pre-pandemic levels of mixing in the UK means the virus is ripe to bounce back this season, when immunity in the population is low.
“There are strong indications we could be facing the threat of widely circulating flu, lower levels of natural immunity due to less exposure over the last three winters, and an increase in Covid-19 circulating with lots of variants that can evade the immune response,” said Dr Susan Hopkins, the chief medical adviser at UKHSA. “This combination poses a serious risk to our health, particularly those in high-risk groups.”
The NHS comes under pressure every winter as the cold weather drives up hospital admissions, but if flu and Covid spread widely at the same time, the health service could face a particularly difficult season.
Health officials are especially worried about the H3N2 flu strain picked up by global surveillance and which fuelled the early return of influenza in Australia this year. H3N2 can cause more severe disease than other flu strains and was responsible for the UK’s last bad flu season in 2017/18, in which there were about 22,000 excess deaths and twice as many hospital admissions.
About 33 million people in the UK are eligible for a free flu vaccine this autumn, including children being offered the nasal spray vaccine. Health officials are keen to improve uptake in pregnant women, less than half of whom took up the offer of the vaccine last year, and in young children who are unlikely to have any natural immunity to the virus.
About 26 million of those who qualify for a free flu shot are also eligible for an autumn Covid booster. Under NHS plans, these will be updated shots from Pfizer and Moderna, which target the original and Omicron variants. Flu and Covid shots are available for all over 50s, people at clinical risk, those living with immunosuppressed people, and frontline health and social care workers. Where possible Covid and flu shots will be given at the same time.
“This winter could be the first time we see the effects of the so-called ‘twindemic’ with both Covid and flu in full circulation, so it is vital that those most susceptible to serious illness from these viruses come forward for vaccines in order to protect themselves and those around them,” said Steve Russell, NHS director for vaccinations and screening. “If you have been offered a flu vaccination or Covid booster you should book in as soon as possible.”

THE BOLLOCKS IS BACK: ‘Autumn Covid wave officially kicks off: NHS virus admissions jump by HALF in a week and will only get worse – as hospitals start cancelling ops because of ‘extreme pressure’ before winter pressures even begin’

England’s autumn Covid wave has officially kicked off, top experts claimed today as figures revealed both cases and virus admissions to hospital are beginning to spiral.
NHS statistics show a 48 per cent weekly uptick in the number of infected patients in England needing treatment, sparking panic among health chiefs.
And the Office for National Statistics, which tracks the size of the country’s outbreak, estimates cases have risen 12 per cent over the space of three days, suggesting pressure on hospitals is nowhere close to peaking. Roughly 860,000 people in England are thought to be carrying Covid.
It marks the first sustained rise since mid-July, when the summer wave peaked and ministers faced calls to bring back pandemic-era restrictions.
Hospitals have been overwhelmed all summer. Care backlogs have amassed to record highs, patients have been killed by ambulance delays and thousands forced to queue 12-plus hours in swamped A&E units.
The never-ending crisis, largely fueled by a lack of staff, has already forced one NHS trust in Nottinghamshire to start cancelling routine operations. Rationing care is the only way to ensure critically-ill patients get urgent care, bosses said.
Leaders fear the situation will only worsen as routine winter pressures begin to bite, with Covid and flu expected to combine to create a ‘twindemic’.

Imperial College Professor Prat says people refusing the deadly fake vaccine are a ‘global menace who must be defeated

The author of the article, Ara Darzi, who is a member of the House of Lords of the United Kingdom, writes:
Quote:‘The latest stage in the battle against Covid-19 has begun. Across the UK people aged over 50 are being called for vaccination with a booster this autumn to protect them against a likely new wave of infection this winter. But how many will accept it?
Darzi, who also just happens to be the director of the Institute of Global Health Innovation at Imperial College, London then goes on to claim the following –
[ul]
[li]The growing anti-vaccine movement is a threat to public health here (UK) and across the Globe.[/li]
[li]Over 3.7 million people in Britain (6.4 per cent) are yet to have a single dose of the Covid vaccine.[/li]
[li]The risk of death is 14 times higher in the unvaccinated and without full coverage the danger to the wider population is increased.[/li]
[li]Thousands of deaths have been linked to vaccine refusal. Figures from the Office for National Statistics show that 37,961 unvaccinated people in the UK died with Covid-19 mentioned on their death certificates between January 2021 and March 2022.[/li]
[/ul]
The article, which is of course behind a paywall, can be read in full here.
But each and every one of the claims made by Ara Darzi in the article is an outright lie.
Darzi is technically correct in saying ‘over 3.7 million people in Britain (6.4 per cent) are yet to have a single dose of the Covid vaccine’. But only because he uses the word over. He’s only approximately 15.2 million short of the actual number of people who are yet to have a single dose.

Senile Biden launches ‘vaccine tour’ and urges all Americans to get the ‘new’ ‘Covid’ fake vaccine that has killed and maimed legions of people flanked by fellow mass murders like Fauci. They know they are killing people, but then that’s the idea

Flanked by Dr. Anthony Fauci, other top U.S. public health officials and the CEOs of major pharmacy chains including CVS, Rite-Aid and Walgreens, President Biden today urged “all Americans” to get an updated COVID-19 vaccine and pleaded with Congress to continue funding the vaccines and COVID-19 treatments, such as Pfizer’s Paxlovid.
“If you’re fully vaccinated, get one more COVID shot — once a year, that’s it,” Biden said, likening it to an annual flu shot. “If you get it you’re protected, and if you don’t, you’re putting yourself and other people at unnecessary risk,” he said.
Biden, who last month declared the “pandemic is over,” also urged people to get their kids the flu shot and the COVID-19 shot, stating “you can get them at the same time.”
Biden ended his speech by getting the COVID-19 booster shot live on camera.

Commenting on Biden’s speech, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., founder, chairman of the board and chief legal counsel for Children’s Health Defense, said:
“It’s troubling President Biden is so captive of a false and discredited narrative that he continues to aggressively promote a high-risk, zero-liability, experimental medical intervention with a product that doesn’t work as advertised and is causing horrendous health problems in Americans.
“It’s even more dismaying that he has used the prestige and moral authority of the presidency to recruit America’s corporations into a racketeering enterprise.”
Biden’s speech coincided with today’s announcement that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on Wednesday will launch a #VaxUpAmerica Family Vaccine Tour that will feature pop-up vaccination events across the country.
As part of this tour, the White House said:
“HHS will work with national and community-based organizations and others to reach families where they are with information on COVID-19 vaccines, and will host pop-up vaccination events and distribute toolkits at venues such as Head Start provider locations, nursing homes and community health centers around the country.”
According to the White House, administration officials and others will “share information and encourage schools, community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, employers and others to host their own vaccination events.”

Whitty and Vallance’s Self-Exculpatory ‘Independent’ Lockdown Report is an Evidence-Free Whitewash – and they should be in jail with Hancock and Johnson

On December 1st, The U.K.’s Department of Health and Social Care published the Technical Report on the COVID-19 pandemic in the U.K.
The report is a long 11-chapter document describing the U.K.’s response and pointing out suggestions for dealing with future pandemics.
The report is dubbed “independent”, but the authors are public health civil servants and a handful of academics. Given that the authors were instrumental to a greater and lesser degree in implementing the catastrophes of lockdowns, the content is as independent as President Xi’s assessment of his policies.
Readers of Trust the Evidence will face problems reconciling some of the report content with what we have written. For example, there is no mention of the misuse of PCR or the failure to follow closely other nations ahead of the curve whose contact tracing systems had been overwhelmed in days.
Quote:It was important – and the U.K. did not always get this right – to align testing aims, use cases, technologies, data flows and communications in coherent testing strategies.
There is no apology for the evidence-free mass testing, the segregation of healthy people and the lack of identification of truly infectious cases.
Quote:Pre-symptomatic and asymptomatic transmission, in the absence of routine mass asymptomatic testing, are a huge challenge for even a highly effective contact tracing system.
A better wording might have been: contact tracing is hugely challenging, and it won’t achieve its intended outcomes and was, therefore, a waste of £37 billion – something the Lombardy public health operators had realised by the beginning of March 2020 and the U.K. Parliament considered was an ‘unimaginable’ cost.
Hospital-acquired infections are ignored. And yet, up to 40% of ‘hospital cases’ were infections acquired in hospitals. Moreover, their distribution shadowed that in the surrounding community, suggesting that whatever ‘protection’ measures the hospitals were taking did not work.
The low risk to school children and teachers is portrayed as a tension between missing education and stopping transmission.
Quote:In restricting attendance in educational settings, this must be heavily caveated with the health and wellbeing impacts of limiting attendance in educational settings to priority groups – which are substantial. They include:
[ul]
[li]missed learning[/li]
[li]a reduction in non-COVID-19-related healthcare utilisation[/li]
[li]exacerbation of existing inequality for both children and parents[/li]
[/ul]
School-age children had the lowest risk, and the effects of the immunological segregation are now reaped with a whirlwind of influenza-like illnesses. Not to mention socialising and schooling – mere details.

Camel flu is killing a third of the people it infects – you know that’s true because corporate media said so!

The Daily Mail published an article last week entitled ‘Experts warn of World Cup ‘camel flu’ – which kills up to a THIRD of everyone it strikes – as England fans make their way home from Qatar’. Like most media stories, it is 99% rubbish mixed in with just a soupcon of how you goin’.
But the sad thing is, there will be some people out there who will be sucked in and end up believing these obvious lies. Some may even now be clamouring for a vaccine for camel flu. After all, monkeypox made some of them go bananas (couldn’t help it, I really couldn’t) so camel flu could have them spitting chips!
According to the latest fear porn out of the UK, people coming back from Qatar after viewing the World Cup – where 2 journalists died suddenly of previously undiagnosed heart problems – might be unwitting carriers of camel flu, otherwise known as Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome (“MERS”).
The symptoms include coughing, fever and vomiting – signs that are so non-specific as to be capable of striking fear into the hearts of anyone who watches more than 15 minutes of corporate television per week. Run for the hills – the sky is falling!
According to the article:
Quote:Mers can be acquired from close contact with camels or from consuming camel products eg, unpasteurised camel milk.
Darn, I just had coffee the other day and unwittingly used unpasteurised camel milk in it! I’d plain run out of the cow kind and it was the only other thing available. I couldn’t possibly drink it black, after all!
According to the brave unnamed experts in this article, MERS which was first described in 2012 (where was it before?) is really deadly with over 1/3 of those who contract it reported to have died as a result.
There was no reference for this statement and the use of weasel words such as “reported to” and “Around 35 per cent of those who get MERS die as a result” make me question whether or not these statements are true.
There has been a total of 5 (FIVE) cases of MERS reported in the UK since 2012. And none of them died. So where do they get this from?
If you get no thrill from champagne but fear of non-existent viruses floats your boat, then please don’t let me stop you. Go for the panic! Stay home and flatten the curve. Knock yourself out!
But excuse me for saying that this is just the government starting to panic because the last scamdemic is burning out and they are losing control. They LOVE control – so they are trying to find a way to get it back.

YAWN: New ‘Covid’ variant XBB.1.5 ‘that is already behind one in 25 cases in the UK’ is a ‘wakeup call’ and could worsen the NHS crisis, warn ‘experts’ who have been wrong at every turn for three years

A ‘highly infectious’ Covid strain has emerged and is already behind one in 25 cases in the UK, data suggests.
The strain — dubbed XBB.1.5 — has caused alarm in the US over its quick spread and a recent rise in hospitalisations. It is behind four in ten cases in the country, up from two a week ago.
The variant, which is a version of Omicron, has mutations that help it dodge protection from vaccination and prior infections.
Experts told MailOnline that strain is a ‘wakeup call’ and could worsen NHS crisis, which has seen the health service battered by a ‘twindemic’ of Covid and flu.
However, officials caution that there is no indication the strain causes more severe illness than earlier variants.
[Image: Screenshot-2023-01-02-at-19.23.37-500x321.png]
XBB.1.5 has gained mutations, including F486P, which help it to bypass Covid-fighting antibodies that were generated in response to vaccination or previous infection.
Another change — S486P — is thought to improve its ability to bind to cells.
Figures from the Sanger Institute, one of the UK’s largest Covid surveillance centres, shows 4 per cent of cases in the week to December 17 were caused by XBB.1.5.
It is the first time the strain has been listed on the institute’s virus dashboard, which is updated weekly.
The strain is a mutated version of Omicron XBB, which was first detected in India in August.
XBB, which is a merger of variants BJ.1 and BA.2.75, caused cases to quadruple in just one month in some nations.
Professor Lawrence Young, a virologist at Warwick University, told MailOnline that the emergence of the strain is a ‘wakeup call’ and could exacerbate the NHS crisis.

Have we learnt nothing from being caught off guard by ‘Covid’? Obviously not. Those who oversaw the catastrophe now say too little is being done to prepare for the next one. Well, sacking them would be a great start along with jailing the fake vaccine makers …

The story of how this vaccine was designed, developed and licensed at breathtaking speed — in under a year — by the labs of Oxford University has become scientific legend.
It is estimated to have saved more lives than any other Covid vaccine in 2021 — 6.3 million globally — according to research published last summer by the life-science data firm Airfinity, based on information from Imperial College London.
And recently the same labs, on an unremarkable modern campus in a suburb of Oxford, have again been in the spotlight for rapidly developing another crucial vaccine — this time against a strain of the Ebola virus that causes a deadly haemorrhagic fever and proves fatal in about 50 per cent of cases.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) announced late last November that the Oxford Ebola vaccine, ChAdOx1 biEBOV, was one of three to be shortlisted for trials taking place in Uganda. It aims to combat the Sudanese strain that has so far killed 55 people, with 142 confirmed cases across the country.
Although vaccines exist to protect against other strains of Ebola (principally the dominant Zaire strain), the Oxford vaccine is the only one that is bivalent — able to protect against two viral strains.
That a team of fewer than 100 scientists from the Jenner Institute and the Oxford Vaccine Group, both based at Oxford University, has produced two milestone scientific achievements in such a brief timespan is remarkable.
But can such an effort be replicated to save us from future pandemics? With one leading UK expert telling Good Health that future outbreaks should be regarded as a threat to our country’s security and not ‘just’ a health problem, there are fears that the next time a virus strikes on a global scale, we may not be as well placed to react because of a lack of funding and government planning, squandering the hard-gained experience of the Covid pandemic.
