Can anyone explain to me, fairly simply, if possible, what RNA is, and why this is being used in the PCR test to identity a positive covid-19 case.
Also how does amplification work when used to look for RNA from the PCR test swab. Is this simply using a microscope to enlarge the view of the sample ?
And is the amplification amount, the same as the “cycle threshold”, or is this something different ?
