nah. can't agree with anything that let's them off the hook, richie. i'm surprised you would say such things.
i do think EVERYONE should have gotten off there 9 or 10 years ago when the tracking beacons in the cookies were exposed.
(and i never understood why anyone wanted to be on it in the 1st place. it's a craptastic looking site and inconvenient to use. nor why people would use their real names and photos and let it rake their contacts from elsewhere.)
however, claiming everyone should have known from the beginning is just excusing their abuse and exploitation (and fraud, frankly) and victim blaming. creating privacy options does give people the impression they have some degree of privacy - at least from that company itself. instead it's actually a branch of the government and in collusion with (at least, corporate) hackers and bad actors.
every single person working there should go down.
and you should still get off of there! along with everyone else.
