I keep telling my two daughters to not get sucked into this cashless society. I have been in Sainsbury's twice now and the checkouts have gone down while shopping so cash only which causes immense frustration for customers and staff, and the ATMs outside seem to always crash at the same time so you can't go out and get cash to go back in and pay for your shopping. I just think this is the sign of the times that if we go completely cashless we are screwed. And when it goes pear shaped, for whatever reason without getting too dark and conspiratorial, you simply can't buy anything. I had to get my wife to meet me with some cash to pay for the trolley load of shopping I had. The warning signs are there and we will not be going cashless. Yes its convenient and arguably faster but when the pat hits the fan what you gonna do? If I could afford it I'd be buying gold and silver just in case the paper money also becomes worthless.
