I’ve always even since childhood thought that the Egyptian God depicted on walls of temples and buildings were not human... but then a kind adult would come & distort my innocence & tell me it was just to ‘represent’ the animal they believed they were the God of or associated with but it wasn’t real! To me this made no sense... its not something you would do if you were an adult and it was ‘real life’ this was in my opinion what a child would do like a cartoon but the adult world is a serious place! Why would they do this, I had the same problem with depicting dragons on flags and gargoyles on churches/ buildings! Mythical creatures made no sense to me as a child, they were for stories and not the ‘sensible world’ of adults and the real world!
Now I believe it’s because they were not mythical at all, it’s lost truth! (To us anyway!)
