The Mormons believe that Jesus and the devil are brothers and came from the planet Kolob. They also believe that God was an inhabitant of that planet, who was given the earth to look after.
They say there were two tribes in America the Nephite's and the Lamanites, the former was destroyed by the latter. The only survivor from this war (which has no artifacts or proof by the way) was a guy known as Moroni, he then went on to become an Angel. Moroni in latter times around 1820 visited Joseph Smith, who he gave Gods teaching's written in Egyptian, on golden plates, along with special glasses (the urim and thummin) to read them. Joseph Smith and Brigham Young were both Freemasons, so they added the need of special Holy undergarments and temple worship. The teachings also say you can baptize your family back to Adam (who they say was God by the way) in a single day in the temple. The promises of this religion is that all men get their own planet to rule over and all women are eternally pregnant until the whole universe is populated. This is certainly something for women to look forward to. Perhaps you can ask one of the neatly dressed well spoken (elders) young men,you see riding bikes around your town, if this is true. I have I also asked them some questions, such as what happens after their missionary journey ends, they usually reply we find a wife and have children. From what I understand of the temple weddings before they marry they are each taken to the temple were a priest checks that their equipment is operational. Why have I bought this up? mainly because they (the Mormons) are one of the fastest growing belief systems on the planet and I personally, would believe this whole story to be a total work of fiction. Then there's Scientology which is the invention of L.Ron Hubbard who is a science fiction writer, no further comment needed. Both these stories contain aliens but unfortunately both use the word church as well.
I believe the Bible to be the word of God. I know others in this Forum disagree with that, so if they think it is a work of fiction, it's probably best not to use quote's from it. Just an observation though, I quote from the Bible often but try to add also everyday applications along with it.
