Dentists: ‘Mask Mouth’ Can Lead To Strokes, Heart Attacks

Dentists are warning about the health issues tied to prolonged use of a mask to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
They said dental problems associated with “mask mouth,” including gum disease, could lead to serious complications.
“Gum disease — or periodontal disease — will eventually lead to strokes and an increased risk of heart attacks,” Marc Sclafani, a dentist and co-founder of One Manhattan Dental, told the New York Post about “mask mouth,” which is increasingly causing inflammation and gum disease among patients.
Another dentist and co-founder at One Manhattan Dental, Rob Ramondi, said 50% of his patients are suffering from negative health issues due to mask-wearing.
“We’re seeing inflammation in people’s gums that have been healthy forever, and cavities in people who have never had them before,” Ramondi said. “About 50% of our patients are being impacted by this, [so] we decided to name it ‘mask mouth’ — after ‘meth mouth.’”
“Meth mouth” is a term used to describe poor oral hygiene typically associated with chronic meth users.
The dentists said that the face coverings increase mouth dryness and contribute to a buildup of bad bacteria.
“People tend to breathe through their mouth instead of through their nose while wearing a mask,” Sclafani said. “The mouth breathing is causing the dry mouth, which leads to a decrease in saliva — and saliva is what fights the bacteria and cleanses your teeth.”
Sclafani suggested those who have no choice but to wear masks can drink more water, cut down on caffeine, snag a humidifier to moisten the air, use an alcohol-free mouthwash, scrape their tongue, and refrain from smoking.

New Danish Study: Face Masks Don’t Protect Against Covid

Few issues are more contentious in modern American life than mandatory mask orders. And the debate is about to get even more heated.
A newly released study in the academic journal Annals of Internal Medicine casts more doubt on policies that force healthy individuals to wear face coverings in hopes of limiting the spread of COVID-19.
“Researchers in Denmark reported on Wednesday that surgical masks did not protect the wearers against infection with the coronavirus in a large randomized clinical trial,” the New York Times reports.
The study is perhaps the best scientific evidence to date on the efficacy of masks.
To conduct the study, which ran from early April to early June, scientists at the University of Copenhagen recruited more than 6,000 participants who had tested negative for COVID-19 immediately prior to the experiment.
Half the participants were given surgical masks and instructed to wear them outside the home; the other half were instructed to not wear a mask outside the home.
Roughly 4,860 participants finished the experiment, the Times reports. The results were not encouraging.
“The researchers had hoped that masks would cut the infection rate by half among wearers. Instead, 42 people in the mask group, or 1.8 percent, got infected, compared with 53 in the unmasked group, or 2.1 percent. The difference was not statistically significant,” the Times reports.
Dr. Henning Bundgaard, lead author of the experiment and a physician at the University of Copenhagen, told the newspaper the results of his research are clear.
“Our study gives an indication of how much you gain from wearing a mask,” Bundgaard said. “Not a lot.”
The Times notes that the research “did not contradict growing evidence that masks can prevent transmission of the virus from wearer to others”—but adds that the study’s findings are at odds with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which just last week endorsed the view that face coverings protect individuals from contracting the virus.

Sacked for not wearing a mask after 39 years with the same company

Back in October the company that I worked for introduced a new health and safety rule making it mandatory for all employees to wear a face covering mask/visor, even though no had tested positive on the PCR test since this whole plandemic began and the levels of people testing positive in the area where I live were very low and still are.
I had already asked if this was going to happen because there were rumours but they said no, but then a week or so later a notice came round on the Friday that as from Monday everyone had to where a face covering and so I went and found the health and safety advisor, showed him my exemption card, and told him I could not wear one. He and his boss rejected my card telling me it was only for public spaces and told me to come in Monday wearing or I will be sent home.
So I did not go in for two days and after playing ping pong emails with HR, went back in on the Wednesday without wearing one, and was only there for ten minutes before getting suspended and put under investigation for putting everybody else at risk which is stupid because they all sit in the same canteen and use the same kitchen and vending machines and all the smokers stand in the same shelter close to one another.
I was offered alternative types of masks/visors but to me they are all the same. This was followed by more emails and an offer to have a talk with a therapist as to why I could not wear one which i declined and was then invited to a disciplinary meeting where I was offered a chance of returning to work with a mask.
I said i could not so they dismissed me on the 13/11. I did talk to a solicitor about wrongful dismissal but he said it would be very difficult without a medical reason whatever. That means no one has clearly defined what that is.
So after 39 years of loyalty they sacked me for not being able to cover my face up for eight hours a day. When I started working in 1981 it was not the same company. They were taken over about five or six years ago by a large Swiss company.
