Quis custodiet ipsos fact chuckers?
We cannot help feeling flattered that the mighty fact-checkers at AFP have come after us because “A video viewed tens of thousands of times on social media claims that satellite data showed no net global warming for the past seven years”, which they admit is true then X out lest it lead to unauthorized thoughts. Fact-checked for telling no lies. We made the big time. Now if we could just get Greta Thunberg to denounce us for telling inconvenient truths.
In these days of cancel culture, Facebook predictably responded by downgrading our post without doing any independent research….

Climate lockdowns anyone? Hundreds of lives saved by improved air quality during first ‘Covid’ lockdown as thousands (at least) died as a result of the lockdown.
More than 800 lives may have been saved across Europe due to better air quality in the first phase of Covid lockdowns, new research suggests.
Measures brought in to stem the rise in infections led to far fewer cars and lorries on the roads, which had the biggest impact on reducing deaths, according to the study led by experts from the LondonSchool of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).
Analysis of 47 European cities found Paris, London, Barcelona and Milan were among the top six with the highest number of avoided deaths.
The study noted that closing workplaces and schools in European cities reduced levels of air pollution through less traffic and movement, while public events were cancelled and people stayed at home.
This led to less nitrogen dioxide, or NO2 polluting the air, with Spanish, French and Italian cities seeing the biggest decreases in N02 of 50% to 60% during the period.
Although strong decreases in NO2 were found, levels of fine particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10) experienced a smaller drop seeing as they are also produced by natural sources (wildfires and dust) and other emissions.

NEW CDN VIDEO ON PAVLOV'S FLOODS
In our latest “Backgrounder” video we talk about how far too many people have been “conditioned” to react to bad weather by thinking “climate change.” Just as Pavlov's dogs learned to salivate at the sound of a metronome (no, not a bell) even though there was no inherent connection between that device and the appearance of food, people have come to associate storms, droughts, wildfires and so on with global warming, CO2 and higher taxes even though there's no inherent connection, in the view of most scientists…

WATCH - Hunter Biden invest the Bank of China's money in Chinese oil, coal, and gas companies while his father skyrockets the price of energy in the United States telling Americans that we need to fight climate change.
Joe Biden blames Vladimir Putin for gas prices, but Biden cancelled the Keystone pipeline, banned new drilling on federal land, and declared war on American energy production long before Putin invaded Ukraine.

Met Office Changed Global Temperature Record to Add 14% to Recent Warming, Says Climate Scientist
Satellite data show that global warming started to run out of steam two decades ago, but the U.K. Met Office’s record of surface temperature from 1975 was boosted by 14% at the end of 2020. At the same time, the period between 1880-1975 was cooled. The move accentuates the rise in the global temperature recorded in the 1980s and 1990s that forms the basis of much of the current hysteria about the so-called climate emergency.
The disclosure of the apparent warming and cooling is contained in the latest State of the Climate report from Emeritus Professor Ole Humlum of the University of Oslo, and published by the Global Warming Policy Foundation. Professor Humlum says the post-1975 warming is about +0.1°C and the pre-1975 cooling about -0.1°C. The version-change to the fifth HadCRUT Met Office database “conveys the impression of a somewhat more rapid global temperature increase following the relatively cold period terminating around 1975”. When the Met Office first announced the change in December 2020, it admitted to 0.16°C extra warming, although it didn’t give specifics about cooling and warming either side of the 1975 mark.
Professor Humlum also draws attention to significant retrospective changes in the American GISS surface temperature record. The graph below shows the effect of the changes made since May 2008 on the monthly temperature record, with increases in red and decreases in blue. As with HadCRUT, the changes warm the early part of the record, cool the period from 1900 to 1970, and heat up the later recordings.

Extinction promotion -
A man in Ladysmith, B.C. has become so fearful that climate change is going to kill him that he has gone to a doctor seeking medically-assisted suicide. We probably shouldn’t laugh but we’re going to anyway. Especially since he’s an activist with Extinction Rebellion and he doesn’t seem to grasp the irony. And if he succeeds in bringing about his own extinction to rebel against a non-existent trend towards increasing climate-related deaths, we will not be made to feel guilty because we have done our part, as have you, our many supporters, to get the message out that climate change is not a catastrophe, despite what the alarmist death cults would have us believe.
The Epoch Times reports that “According to a recent article in Vice magazine, in 2017 the man’s doctor diagnosed him with eco-anxiety and biosphere-related depression. He told Vice his condition had become ‘debilitating.’” Despite which some heartless bureaucrat turned down his February 2021 request to be euthanized. But since Bill C-7 a month later made mental illness acceptable grounds for getting snuffed as of March 2023, he reapplied and is battling on, however debilitated.
Of course he may still have problems getting agreement, if he wants to argue that his fear is rational. There’s a bit of a Catch-22 here (the original of which in Heller’s eponymous novel, you may recall, was that you could only be excused flying terribly dangerous combat missions if you were insane, but not wanting to fly them proved you were sane). For instance, if his purpose in taking his own life is to make a powerful statement about climate change, then it’s arguably a rational act and he’s not excused living on grounds of insanity. Likewise, a determined campaign to get dead strongly suggests that he’s not debilitated.
This odd episode may really be about the conditions under which we assist a person in succumbing to despair generally rather than the particular condition that is or is not proof of a debilitating mental illness. But part of the question is whether it is crazy to think climate change poses an existential danger in the face of which life is not worth living. If so, he’s not of sound mind and can’t make decisions. If not, he is and can’t make this one.
Of course if you are inclined to argue that accepting the Extinction Rebellion ideology is ipso facto proof that your mind is not working properly, we’re inclined to agree. And suggest you get help so you can live a happy life until death comes in its own time.

Eco-preachers Harry and Meghan are accused of ‘enormous hypocrisy’ for taking £160K flight back from Jubilee to LA in ‘Russian Oligarch-style’ private jet for people ‘who don’t care’ about the planet
Harry and Meghan have been accused of ‘enormous hypocrisy’ after flying back to California from the Queen‘s Platinum Jubilee in a ‘Russian oligarch-style’ private jet.
The eco-preaching Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to their £11million Montecito mansion with their children Archie and Lilibet on a gas-guzzling Bombardier Global 6000 before the grand finale of the Jubilee pageant even began on Sunday.
Bombardier is an ‘ultra long range’ 13-passenger private jet which comes with its own ‘private stateroom’ that features a flatbed and can travel more than 6,000 miles without stopping. It is not clear who paid for the £160,000 flight.
Climate experts believe the journey will have resulted in ten times more carbon being emitted than if the Sussexes had taken a commercial flight. The royal couple’s flight from Farnborough to Santa Barbara will have emitted nearly 60 tonnes of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, according to chartered flight provider Paramount Business Jets.
Under the terms of the Paris Agreement objective of keeping global warming below 2C, each person’s carbon budget should be no more than 2.1 tonnes per year – meaning Harry and Meghan exceeded this by nearly 15 times in just one flight.
As the Sussexes also flew into Britain on a private jet, and assuming it was the same aircraft, their overall return trip would have exceeded the annual limit by nearly 30 times. By comparison, the carbon emission rating of flying from Heathrow to LA in an economy-class seat on a commercial aircraft is 1.4 tonnes, according to climate consultancy Cube6.
The Queen’s grandson previously described climate change as one of the ‘most pressing issues we are facing’, and told Oprah Winfrey during the couple’s bombshell interview last year: ‘We need to do better about stopping or allowing the things that are causing so much harm to so many of us at the source, rather than being distracted by the symptom.’

You bloody liars: Nearly 200,000 coastal homes and businesses in England could be underwater by the 2050s, ‘study’ warns
Nearly 200,000 homes and businesses in England are at risk of being lost to rising sea levels by the 2050s, a new study has warned.
Researchers said the country could face around 14 inches (35cm) of sea level rise compared to historic levels within 30 years and is nearly certain to see close to 3ft (1m) of advancement by the end of the century.
It comes a week after the official in charge of Britain’s flood protection said some of Britain’s seaside towns and villages may have to be abandoned because of rising seas and coastal erosion.
The new study also cautioned that it may not be possible to protect some communities, after examining how advancing seas caused by climate change – combined with erosion of foreshores by waves – are increasing coastal flood risk.
It compared the rising risk of coastal flooding with existing policies for managing the coast.
Rising seas combined with increased wave-driven erosion are raising the risk of coastal flooding, forcing the Government and communities to decide how to respond – mainly whether to hold the line against the sea by building and maintaining defences or realign the shoreline and move properties.
For a thousand miles of English coast (1,600-1,900km), there will be high pressure to rethink the current policy to hold the line as it may become unfeasible due to rising costs, or technically impossible, the study says.

Greenland Ice Cores show warmer climate 4000 years ago
Greenland Ice Cores Show Temps Were Much Warmer 4,000 Years Ago
Jørgen Peder Steffensen is an ice core research professor at the Niels Bohr Institute at the University of Copenhagen. His team has reconstructed the last 10,000 years of Greenland’s climate history using ice core data.
It bears the fingerprints of climatic conditions of more than 120,000 years.
When they removed the drill from the ice core, they leave a hole and insert a thermometer in the hole to map out the temperature through the three-kilometer ice sheet.
And that temperature, done within a thousandth-of-a-degree accuracy, the ice has not forgotten how cold or warm it was on the surface at the time the snow fell.
So using those temperatures, they reconstructed the temperatures of the last ten thousand years.
They found that if they go back about 4,000 years ago, they have temperatures that were two-and-a-half degrees warmer on average than today.

German professor says human caused climate change is delusional nonsense
Climate Scientist Says Humans Cause Less Than 0.05°C of Global Warming and Warns of “Anarchy” From “Delusional” Net Zero Policies
by Chris Morrison
With Germany scouring the world for supplies of oil and gas and firing up dormant coal power stations, one of its most distinguished atmospheric scientists, Professor Hermann Harde, has castigated politicians for reacting to increasingly shrill climate horror stories and “believing they can save the world”. Many of the research studies and “horror scenarios” are not based on a secure physical foundation, he says, “but rather represent computer games that reflect what was fed in”. The idea that humans can control the climate with their CO2 emissions is said to be an “absolute delusion”.
In Professor Harde’s view, there exists considerable doubt about a “scientifically untenable thesis” of purely human-caused climate change, “and it is completely wrong to assume that 97% of climate scientists, or even more, would assume only anthropogenic warming”. In his view, climate and energy policy can only gain popular acceptance when they are based on reliable knowledge, “and not on speculations or belief”. Harde retired a few years ago from Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg as Professor of Experimental Physics after a long career in science academia…
