We’ve been giving donations to starving kids in Africa since I was a kid ... I’d rather save up the money & go there & distribute it personally! I tend to now give charity to those closer to home such as a homeless person in the street or homeless shelters or collection boxes for kids in our community or even doing things like making up shoe boxes for shoebox appeal / homeless appeal!
I feel bad that the children in other countries are suffering... I actually feel pain for them but it’s corruption not the lack of charity! Humans are inherently kind & want to help but no matter what you give it won’t solve the problem because it’s by design!
Totally agree Charlotte.
With all this "just £3 a month" garbage that is rammed down our throat 24/7, it makes you wonder how much of that £3 would get to those who really need it. My guess is that it is pennies, if any at all. I too have seen the same appeals on going since I was a kid and nothing has improved. The rich countries could wipe out third world poverty in an instance, as could the UN, but they choose not to. Mainstream charities are a con, and lets face it, who gives to the needy?. It is the working class, not the rich. The rich would walk past a homeless person with their noses in the air.
I cant help thinking how true the movie Trading Places is, as to those who "have" think about those who " have not".
Was it Bill Gates or one of his vile associates who called us "Useless Eaters" who don't contribute to the planet.
Find a good local charity to donate to where you can see what they are doing and that is far more rewarding than lining someone else's pocket
instead of texting BUCKET and giving them £3 I would rather
Text them FUCKIT and give my donation locally
