The day of Pentecost was the birth of the Christian church. Don't get it mixed up with the birth of the Catholic 'Church' in 300AD. Thanks to the Roman emperor Constantine who saw the strength and love of the true Christians. He decided to make Rome 'Christian' and take on the cross as it's symbol. He introduced Babylon mother and child worship to the empire. You are right many have died in the name of the cross, even during the inquisition many real Christians died. Jesus said *[[Joh 4:23]] KJV* But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. He never called Christians to fight for him. *[[Joh 18:36]] KJV* Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. We don't need to fight for Jesus he can look after himself. He could have called 12 legions of angels to save him from death but he willingly died so we could receive the Holy Spirit.
